Originally posted by peytonsforehead View PostI will say one thing, if by some chance Peyton proved me wrong and cruised his way through the AFC playoff representatives and beat a Pats team with Gronk halfway decent and Talib still healthy, then went to the Superbowl and beat us/San Francisco/Seattle in the cold in New York, I'd be forced to change my opinion of him.
I'm basing my opinion, and a lot of people's opinion, of him based on his 15 years in the league. That's a large sample size; it's not like it's 4 or 5 years. Especially considering his one ring, he had to get A LOT of breaks to win it, including facing a hobbled Pats team and barely beating them - wasn't Rodney Harrison injured the last game of the season or something if I remember correctly? - and facing the Rex Grossman-led Bears in the Super Bowl, and still putting up sub par stats and being bailed out by his defense and running game.
If he cruises into the playoffs, beats the AFC teams including New England (at full strength as far as no more key injures), and beats the NFC team, I'll gladly change my opinion. I just don't think he has it in him. Some people are clutch, some aren't.
Even Elway, before he won those 2 SBs, had all those game winning drives and single-handedly carried truly mediocre teams to SBs they didn't belong in.
...and please stop making excuses for the Patriots and their inuries...we're playing with backup OT's, and missed six games of a top three defensive player in the league and five without an All Pro corner and we're still 6-0

I'm not even a Pats fan and I know that losing Wilfork and Mayo is a severe loss for them.
And you can keep dreaming about the undefeated thing lol. Can't wait to see this board after your first loss. It's going to be great. But I guess like Indy fans, you'll blame it on your defense or your "idiot kicker." :-)

Btw, I wouldn't laugh at Eli. He might be shaky in the regular season, but in a playoff game, I'd much rather have him over Peyton.

Oakland had them beat! But here comes the tuck rule!
Then in the superbowl:
Ty law pick six
Otis int leads to a brady td pass
And a fumble leads to a fg.
His defense held the greatest show on turf to 17! Gave him a td (pick 6) and two extra possesions and he gets the MVP!
His defense held the Giants to 21 and 17 and Brady couldnt score enough pts!

Eli is inconsistent and anyone with a brain knows their D won those SB's.
And yeah, we've suffered a ton of injuries, so stop the excuses for your Pats.

I'm not sure they purposely lost, the team was just that bad, Peyton covered up a TON of holes on their team.

Some true, some not, maybe they are right.

Bailey not in his prime is better than any DB the Aints have, and keep spreading lies on what Miller was on, drinking your haterade will do that. Our defense was top 5 with Bailey and Miller, our pass defense is the worst in the league without them, and we're still winning games. I'm trying to let that point marinate for you, someday you'll realize Peyton > Brees.
Also, let the facts show, 6-0 > 5-1.
