Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.
--Broncos Country Message Board Staff
The part about disappearing for entire halfs is true. Imagine how badly we'd destroy teams if we played complete games. Having said that, most teams, including playoff contenders, have weaknesses. The Broncos' weakness being that they are prone to turning the ball over. And I think we just match up well against them. There are other teams, that are probably inferior to the Broncos , that we would have more trouble with.
And it's not that I am counting on turnovers to win. But if you run a multiple regression you will find that turnover differential is very highly correlated to wins, especially in the postseason. Broncos are -3 in TO differential. That's not a guarantee that trend will continue in the postseason, but historical data is all we have to go by.
As far as the 280 yards on the ground, a lot of that was due to the fact that we dropped 6 or 7 in coverage and practically invited you to run. That will be our game plan again if we meet. As long as we limit your biggest weapons (your receivers) we should be fine.
I agree with you 100% on this post. I wanted to believe Denver was untouchable but they are horrible at protecting the ball.
Denver can beat any team including Seattle, the Saints, and New England if they protect the ball.
Unfortunatly the 11 other teams that make the playoffs this year can beat Denver if they can get Denver to turn the ball over.
If you're counting on turnovers to win, you're already in trouble.
What about the 280 yards on the ground? What about the entire half of football where you couldn't even muster a FG? What about how you couldn't move the ball at all in OT?
None of that has anything to do with turnovers. None of that bothers you?
Sorry if I'm a bit dubious of your confidence. I think Pats fans are spoiled by the success they've had in the past and think it's all but assured in the future. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Pats are a team that have lost to the Bengals 13-6, and an absolutely horrible Jets team. You're not invulnerable to bad games, you've just been fortunate to skate by in some. The entire first half of the Panthers game you scored ONE fieldgoal. The entire first half of the Dolphins game you scored ONE field goal. The entire second half of the first Jets game you scored ZERO points and in the second one two field goals.
This isn't the Pats team of yesteryear homeboy. You have made a habit of disappearing for entire halfs of games this year, and it's a problem, whether you want to admit it or not.

I didn't like our silly mistakes that led to turnovers, obviously. But like I said that's an anomaly for us. We just don't turn the ball over often. Or more importantly, we create more turnovers than we give up. And this has been the case for years now. We have led the league in TO differential the previous 2 or 3 seasons. I wouldn't count on us to make those mistakes again. If somehow we do, then we're in trouble.

It doesn't mean anything that you were down 24-0 at halftime? lol When we did that to the Chargers I had reason for concern, even though we won. You're just fine and dandy with that? What if you do it again? You think it's a shoe-in that you're going to come back again?
Come on dude.
It's a two way street. At the end of the day, it was a very close game that could have gone either way. It's not like you guys were moving the ball at will in OT.

It WAS just a regular season game. But it speaks volumes that they squandered a 24-0 lead and Peyton had his typical cold weather game. If you beat us in the playoffs, I will tip my hat. At the end of the day that's all that matters.
I just don't see it happening.

Making excuses is weak. We lost why feed into there regular season celebration, tip your cap give them there moment to flex and act like they won something bro.
We both know Denver can win out, get the #1 seed and will have DRC, Champ, Rahim (3 of our 4 starters in the secondary) and Julius Thomas will be back and a huge mismatch for the Pats.
One game at time buddy these chumps will disappear.
Do you not know what the word excuse means or what? Who was making excuses? So pointing out why we lost is making excuses?
The definition of excuse, since you seem to be unaware, is an attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify.
I wasn't defending or justifying jack. If anything I was being critical. Learn the difference bud.
I'm not worried about these chumps, nor do I feel the need to "tip my hat" to some punk that showed up AFTER the fact. He didn't play in the game, he's just some idiot that showed up to run his neck after the fact like some balless joke. Show some self respect.
I'm going to laugh again when the Chiefs whoop you. You think that you're going to beat the Pats next time, well this is the Chief's next time for you.
And when was the last time that the BROcos even went to a SB??? lololololol
whens the last time the pats won one without filming the other teams signals and making adjustments off them?
And I have already accepted it and moved on. Ready to beat the buck snot out of the Cheaps. You're the one going on and on about it like you just won the Super Bowl
I guess since it's been a decade since you've won one you have forgotten what it's like and you've gone all ADHD because this was your Super Bowl

Sure, and I was disappointed that we lost in the SB in 2007 and 2011 by 3 and 4 points respectively. But to act as if even getting there is not an accomplishment is silly.
LOL, never said that but you play for first place and to hold up that Lombardi.
Only one team had bragging rights last year, and they beat both our teams when it counted.
