Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

are you talking career or right now? because i don't see how you can say manning is top 5 even healthy.dude will never be a top 5 QB again, he is done.
If he was allowed he would be out there playing. I don't see why people still question Cutler's toughness. He came two weeks early from injury to play against the Lions. During the game his hand got destroyed, ankle got messed up, and he re-aggravated his groin injury. However, he stayed in the game continuously getting pummeled and getting back up. It took his head coach to force him to not be in the game for him not to be playing. And immediately what did he do? ... he went to McCown and pumped him up, went through plays, ect. for their 2 minute drive.
Cutler is a tough son of a b, who has become a great teammate and leader. Every bears player ever interviewed will say the same thing. He gets WAY TOO MUCH CRAP for what he pulled as a young butt hurt kid with the Broncos. He's not that guy anymore.

He's tough, yes.
Bottom part is all opinion, he's a poopy head, i wont pull him, not wishing him hurt, never wish anyone to get hurt, not my thing.
He shouldnt of been playing though, clearly was hurt, didnt have a lot of velocity on his throws or as much when healthy.
"CHICAGO—Claiming they don’t want to rush the veteran play caller, Bears coach Marc Trestman announced Thursday that the team is giving quarterback Jay Cutler three to four years to properly heal from a lingering ankle injury. “For the sake of the Chicago Bears, we feel it’s best for Jay to take as many years as he needs to fully recover,” said Trestman, who reportedly advised Cutler not to worry about returning in time for the playoffs or the 2014 NFL season. “Looking at the big picture and long-term goals of this football franchise, it would be reckless and irresponsible to allow Jay to get back on the field too soon. Unfortunately, high ankle sprains can be tricky and sometimes need one or two hundred weeks to fully mend.” Bears general manager Phil Emery emphasized that Cutler should focus solely on rehabbing the ankle and that signing a contract extension with the team should be the last thing on anyone’s mind."

This is how it goes here in Chicago...........Josh McCown was just named the NFL's offensive player of the week and Jay Cutler will start this Sunday in Cleveland. Even though Jay is the starter, as a fan I would rather the Bears go with McCown who has the hot hand.

I agree with you on wanting McCown out there. See if he can hold up and bring him back next year. Focus that "Cutler money" back on the D and maybe even draft your future.
Just makes better business sense then commiting all that $$ Cutler is going to want.

I do know that both our GM and Trestman want Cutler back, and Jay would be a fool to leave Chicago. This offense was built over the last two years for Cutler, big WR's, big pass catching TE, upgraded OL, while letting an aging D slide. I think Cutler will accept less to stay in Chicago, than break the bank and start over somewhere else, allowing the Bears to use free agency and the draft to repair a beatup defense.

If he's smart, he would take less, but if not, you gotta let him walk.

The problem is Tressmans O is designed for quick accurate throws with few turnovers. Cutler sits in the pocket longer then most QB's (not as bad as Ben) and he has a tendency to take gambles with the ball to make big plays. McCown maybe an average QB but he analyzes the situation faster then Cutler and makes his reads much quicker and better then Cutler. He doesnt have Jays arm but in this offense he doesnt need it.
Some have suggested that perhaps trading for Cousins whose young and needs development but might do well in this offense. Cutler will not be tendered and he will be allowed to be a FA, some believe Tennessee has a better shot at Cutler. This offense is not necessarily built around Cutler in fact weve seen it does better without him. The ball comes out quicker and the ball distribution is much better

Jay is a smart QB, and I don't think he wants to start over in a new city when he has everything in place with the Bears. A HC/OC who he actually can get the most out of him. An offense that is the most talented he has ever played on. Outside of Denver no team in the NFL has these kind of weapons. Take that all into accound and Jay stays.

He had all that in Denver and he left having a tissy....say what ya want about McDaniel but he is a great OC. I see Jay as a Titan next year..

Gotta say all signs here point to Jay staying in Chicago. Here are Jay's biggest "Fanboys"
1) Bears GM Phil Emery, who many times has called Jay Chicago's franchise quarterback.
2) HC Marc Trestman who for the last five weeks has said Jay is the Bears starting QB and has not wavered once even though Josh McCown has played very well in a backup role. If Jay was not his guy McCown would still be starting.
3) OC Aaron Kromer who said that the Bears are blessed with the QB situation they have with Jay as the starter and Josh backing him up.
FO and coaching staff want Jay in Chicago, and Jay has said many times he wants to remain a Bear. Both sides seem to want to get a deal done once the season ends, so that is what I expect to happen.
Difference between McDaniel and Trestman. Unlike McDaniel Trestman did not want to trade Jay as soon as he became the HC. Emery and Trestman actually have built this offense around Cutler.
