Except historically we do have one of the best homefield advantages in the NFL (5th all time), and SD not so much. We have the easiest schedule in football left, and NE has 2 very lose-able games. Besides homefield advantage in the playoffs is overrated its rare for the 1st seed to make the SB let alone win it.Originally posted by NoRingNoGlory View Post
The truth is we played terribly and unprepared for that game and I didnt say the game didnt matter I said they played that way. Your team may have a good offense but you rarely score TD's and your D had holes in the secondary even slightly more so then we did. as a matchup we were a better team at most positions. Though our team has not paced itself as well as the Chargers have and weve been beaten up fairly badly as you start getting healthy, our coaching staff doesnt rotate well because we lack depth at major key positions though it should not have impacted the game as much as it did.
Our lack of depth on the D-line especially against the run was pathetic, with Vickerson out we cant spread our LB's out as much which allows for easy runs to the outside and Ayers being hurt and Wolfe out causes issues on the edge.
