  • Why is Denver Worried About thePats Run Game?

Legarrett Blount had a big night in the Divisional playoff game against the Colts. And of course we are hearing for the second week in a row how our run defense is in trouble.
Indy has the 26th ranked run d.
The truth is the Pats should have ran all over the Colts and scored 43 (KC scored 44 on them)!
Last time Denver faced the Pats the Broncos rushed for 280 yds against the pats 30th ranked run d.
The Pats need to fear Denvers run game just as much, if not more.

I agree completely. If anyone should fear the run, its New England, because they suck against it, and Denver has actually put up a consistent running game over the past several games. Denver has been good against the run. I am more worried about missing Harris and who's gonna step up in his place.

New England will probably be a very tough game, because the truth is, Brady is an incredible competitor and BB will have his team ready and he WILL pick up on any weaknesses he can find. However, Denver is the better team. Straight up better. Manning is on. He was perfect last game, and we are at home.

Should we be nervous? Probably. But are the odds in our favor. Yes.

NE has allowed more rushing yards then they themselves have rushed this season.

This. The Patriots and pundits are just trying to talk themselves into the idea that they can run all over us. We have shut down a helluva lot better RB cores this season.

We kept Charles in his place. We kept his backup in his place. We kept McCoy in his place, Morris, Jennings...the list goes on... we kept a lot of good to great running backs at bay this season. Why would Ridley or Blount be any different?

I'm not worried about the run. I'm worried about Brady torching us again without Harris... Why run when you can abuse webster/jammer?

Losing Harris is a big loss, but we have Champ back, and DRC who shut down one side of the field in the last game vs the pats but didn't play the second half due to a jambed shoulder.
Also we loss Harris but they wont have Gronk which takes away a big mismatch they had on us.
I worried about the nickel situations to, im hoping Tony Carter can step up he should be able to match up against these small new England receivers.

I think you've hit on the problem that NE presents for Denver.

The balanced attack that the Pats have been displaying is going to be difficult to stop. Blount and Ridley are the real deal, provided they don't hand the ball over as they did last time these teams faced off. Brady, who hasn't had to carry his team on his back alone, as he has in the past few years, should be able to contribute in the good weather if the O-line gives him the time. Minus Von, the Denver pass rush is nothing to fear. San Diego made them look good because their RT played like crap.

As to the Denver run game, and Moreno's performance last time.....that was in large part the NE game plan. I'd be very surprised if Denver runs for more than a buck and a quarter on Sunday. And more importantly, although NE has given up a lot of yards on the ground, they haven't allowed as many TDs on the ground as Denver, if I recall correctly.

Overall, Denver probably has the better offense, but the difference is you have Manning and we have Brady!

The difference is Manning has more weapons, home field, and brady doesn't have top 10 d to slowdown manning

I'm not by any means saying "oh noez it's over we be done!" I'm just obviously concerned...I'll have a big knot in my stomach until we finally see how the defense stands up (hopefully well) Sunday. I'm not even confident with our genius DC that Champ will even be used much...You would think he would but...I'm not convinced JDR knows what the heck he is up to this year.

So basicly that's Denver 2 New England 0 in the positives on offense?
