More excuses for Brady, the more things change, they stay the same.

Never Brady's fault, always some excuse for him.
Pats' fans are just more observant than the average NFL fan...so we notice when one of the guys lets Tommy down.

I wouldnt say NE is in better position, schedule is easier, at least on paper, but things can change. Injuries, teams not doing as good as expected and teams coming out of nowhere among other things.

It's close, not a huge advantage one way or the other.
I totally agree with you. As big a homer and optimist that I am, I can't honestly claim that NE will walk away with it.

Pats fans? Mr. B your my boy but lets call most of your fellow fans what they really are and that's New England Tom Brady Fans!
I know there are some die hard Bostonians but the majority of your fan base is Brady/Belichek worshippers who are blinded.
And before you turn this on me, your right we have a lot of Manning lovers, Tebowians, and of course the group that started following us after we won back to back superbowls in 97 & 98.
But my point is your fan base is not more observant, they just find ways to protect Brady no matter what he does, never his fault!
It was injuries to the defense!
The tuck rule is a really good rule!
Vinateri didn't win those games by making clutch kicks Brady did by putting them in fg range!
Our defenses were highly ranked because of Brady.
Brady would have won 5 but his defense let him down allowing 17 and 21pts! Those are high scores even for the Greatest QB of All time to overcome!

One other thing I forgot to mention.... the horseshoe up Denver's butt last post-season! Could the stars have aligned and conspired more favorably with the weather gods than they did last January and February...? Uh-uh, no way!

Peyton got to play the AFCCG in absolute perfect conditions....60 degrees in Denver in January. Are you kidding me? NE needed weather to help them out that day, due to their personnel situation, to have any chance whatsoever. But they didn't get it, and Manning unquestionably played a great game. Would he have done that if conditions were foul? I don't think so, given his history.

Will those conditions repeat themselves next January....I don't think so on that one either.

OMG!!!! The Broncos had such an advantage playing in balmy January weather!!!!

You have two teams that are used to playing in cold weather, one team took advantage of the weather, one didn't.

What's next, the Broncos had an advantage because the game was played on a Sunday?

That just tells you that Denver is a much better team. They had plenty of injuries also, to a lot of starters.

Just the fact that you think Adderrall improving mental focus will have no effect on the field makes you pretty stupid. You realize football is a game of schemes, memorizing plays, gaps, blocking schemes etc. right? Or did you just start watching football. Adderrall also improves reaction time. That's what stimulants do. In a league where each play only takes a few seconds and players run 20 miles and hour it absolutely provides a competitive advantage.

                Here's some other reasons:

                1. It's a psychostimulant. It also gives you an energy boost and can get you feeling much better before you start a game.
                2. It's an amphetamine.
                3. It's addictive and has these side effects: irregular heartbeat, confusion, painful urination, high or low blood pressure, hyperthermia, hyperreflexia, muscle pain, severe agitation, rapid breathing, tremor, and inability to urinate.
                4. It's also habit forming, is abused by most people who take it and has withdrawal effects.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told CBSNews.com that the league regards Adderall as a "game-day performance enhancer." But can the stimulant actually give a player a tangible edge on the field?

Yes, according to experts. Adderall essentially "makes you more aware and more attentive," says Andrew Spanswick, an addiction specialist who has helped rehabilitate professional athletes with Adderall addiction at his Los Angeles treatment center.

"It makes you feel more calm and more alert and makes things go slower, which is perfect for an NFL player," said Spanswick, who added that Adderall could theoretically give NFL defenders a split second jump on the ball.

Dr. Eric Morse, a Raleigh, N.C., sports psychiatrist, said stimulants like Adderall can even reduce pain sensation. "You're more likely to push through an injury or bump or bruise," he said.

Adderall won't make you smarter but it will keep you working longer with a heightened sense of concentration. When one considers NFL players must absorb tomes of information on a weekly basis - all while recovering from a physical beating from the previous game - it is perhaps no surprise that players would turn to Adderall for an edge.

Stimulant blamed for multiple NFL drug suspensions this season; Is it a growing problem or a convenient cover-up for steroids?

Adderall may provide a competitive edge but it comes with serious health risks. The stimulant is very addictive and an overdose could result in a drug-induced psychosis or even cardiac arrest. Spanswick noted that abusing Adderall could lead someone to lose touch with reality and have suicidal or delusional thoughts. The FDA classifies Adderall as a Schedule II drug, meaning it has a high potential for abuse. (Drugs like cocaine and morphine are also Schedule II drugs).

The NFL says players who need Adderall for medical reasons (like ADHD) can do so if they apply for a therapeutic use exemption in advance. The league did not disclose how many players have such applied for such waivers, so it is unclear how many take the drug under a doctor's supervision and how many ingest it for an illicit pick-me-up.
Just for the reasons of increasing focus and providing and energy boost, it gives anyone who takes it a competitive advantage. Hence the reason it is banned by the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NCAA and the US Anti-Doping Agency. It's also prohibited or classified as a drug of abuse by the US, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, the UK and the United Nations.

As a college student, the use of Adderall is very prevalent for 1) Studying and 2) Staying awake to go out at night. Adderall is really not a big deal.
So you're admitting that it's commonly used for what it's not prescribed for (staying awake to go out at night), which means that people who are prescribed it are selling it to and sharing it with others when it's classified as a Schedule II drug. Saying that it's really not a big deal proves how much of a clueless moron you are.

I have friends who have gotten a prescription from a doctor in less than 5 minutes by just saying they have problems focusing. Thats it. Zero tests needed to get a prescription.
This also proves how ignorant and stupid you are. This is America kid. Doctors get paid bonuses by pharmaceutical companies to prescribe their drugs. It's widely known and it happens all the time. If you weren't just a clueless kid who had no idea what you were talking about you'd have known this. No wonder you don't know jack about football.

                  Both defenses were decimated.

Manning put on a clinic, Brady struggled until Den went into prevent vs the likes of Huff, Mincey, Bolden, Carter, Lenon all who arent very good.

And the weather in Den isnt what it's made out to be. One week it's freezing the next it could be 60-70, perfect weather.

It was fairly windy in the SD game though.

But you could say they got a break with the weather, i reckon.

Who cares about the weather, it's not like Denver played in warm weather and New England played in cold, windy, snowy weather. Both teams play on the same field. I've heard a million different excuses from Pats fans about why they lost. The better team outplayed them and beat them fair and square.

I agree, Pats fans always have some kind of excuse when they lose.

                      Refs, injuries, weather, whatever, luck.

                      • ATTENTION BRADY FANBOYS:

As it can be seen, since the Patriots lost Adam Vinatieri (and the use of video Surveillance) Tom Brady isnt so "clutch" after all.
2005- With the fourth seed in the AFC playoffs, the Patriots defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Playoffs but fell to the Denver Broncos on the road in the Divisional Playoffs, committing five turnovers in the game. 27-13
2006- Pats allow a historic comeback by the Indianapolis Colts in the AFCCG. Peyton Manning does what all Pats fans claimed he would never do and got his championship. 38-34
2007- Belicheat realizes without videotape of opposing defenses Brady needs big time weapons. He goes out and gets Moss and Welker countering the "more with less" argument Pats fans blathered about for years. The Pats are so mad because THEY cheated that they went out and demolished teams, punishing everyone they played for THEIR cheating. They complete a perfect regular season only to fall to another Manning in the SB in the most historic choke job of all time.
2009- Brady's back, that means another SB guaranteed right? WRONG! Brady comes back scared of his own shadow, leads the Pats to the exact same record Cassel did just one year before, and they go ONE AND DONE in the playoffs against the Ravens. Mr. Brady fumbled the ball 3 times against Baltimore. Passing: T. Brady (NE) - 154 YDS, 2 TD, 3 INT .Fans sat in frozen silence. Barely into their seats, they saw the shocking truth on the scoreboard.Five minutes into the game, New England trailed the Baltimore Ravens 14-0. Just one minute later the crowd came to life, booing Tom Brady and his teammates.Tom Brady lost a fumble and was picked off three times. Brady looked like he was thinking more about photo sessions with farm animals and cheap cologne ads than being the leader of his football team.
2010- ONE AND DONE AGAIN!! This time they got destroyed by Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan. Mr. "clutch" couldnt even score a TD. (I mean, seriously, if you have to cheat to beat the Jets, you are doing something wrong.) 28-21
2011- Lost as overwhelming favorites to the Giants....AGAIN!! Brady was less than stellar as he gave the game away on the very first play by stupidly throwing the ball away from his own endzone.
2012. Lost as overwhelming favorites to the Ravens AT HOME in the AFC Championship Game, marking their first AFC title game loss at home 28-13. T. Brady (NE) - 320 YDS, 1 TD, 2 INT
2013. Lost in the AFC Championship game to the Denver Broncos, by a score of 26–16.
For all the talk of how Peyton Manning can’t win the big one, when the confetti fell orange and blue at Sports Authority Field Sunday, it was Bill Belichick and Tom Brady looking back at nine straight seasons of coming up short.
Sunday’s 26-16 loss was the Patriots’ second straight in the AFC Championship Game. Throw in their two Super Bowl losses to Eli’s Giants, another one in the 2005 title game against Peyton’s Colts and their championship 2004 season feels like a long time ago. Last year Brady described the feeling as running on a treadmill that suddenly stops. Now, it’s his window that is getting smaller, not Manning’s.

                        Thus endeth the history lesson.
Games benched for cheating.... Tom Brady = 4 Peyton Manning = 0

                            1. It was too warm inside the stadium

                            3. Tom wasn't 100%

                            4. The refs threw the game

                            5. We didn't have Tom

                            6. You guys were piping in crowd noise

7.It was only a regular season game

                            8. Bill Polian had the rules changed to favor the Colts

                                Excuses..?

                                Sorry you missed the point.

Or, are you actually saying that Manning is unaffected by weather and performs up to his norms in all sorts of inclement conditions.....?..?

LOL. Brady is 'lights out' above Manning in performances in bad weather. Hell, it's almost as if Tommy thrives on it, while Peyton seems to succumb to it.

And I don't think I'm the first one to have noticed this phenomena, but you may be the last one to have recognized it.
