  • Elway The Reason The Rest Of THe AFCW Is In The Rear View Mirror

So, fans of other (lesser) AFCW teams, how did day one of free agency taste?

Elway dominated, once again, and has already put the Broncos in the dominant position to win a fourth straight AFCW title, and to defend the Broncos AFC Championship belt!

I mean, who could have seen the absolute theft of Aqib Talib out from under the New England Pansies? Straight brilliance.

Not to mention signing their No 1 target in free agency, TJ Ward, thereby giving the Broncos one of the best secondaries in the entire NFL with two simple moves.

And there is more on the horizon, with Jared Allen booked for a visit, the Broncos are playing for keeps, chumps, and the rest of you and playing for second place, at best.

A fourth straight AFCW title is already in the bag.

John Elway: Kicking AFCW ass since 1983!!

Ah right, congrats on winning the Free Agency (Washington Redskins) trophy. I'm sure that will guarantee a Super Bowl. I mean hell, it's worked for the Redskins a lot and the Miami Dolphins in recent years.

Bad teams trying to get better vs the AFC Champions getting better.... Comparing butt nuggets to gold nuggets ? I think so

I think SD did a great job by signing RB Donald Brown.
He's going to be solid for them

I am pretty happy regarding our Free Agent signings.

We get a lock down corner in CB A Talib.
Sure he was expensive but that's because he is a top 7 CB.

We got a stud in SS TJ Ward.
Opposing WR's are going to think twice about catching slants in front
        of TJ Ward.

All we need now is DE D Ware,a solid defensive draft and our
        defense will match our Offense…SOLID!

I really hope you're not a SD fan talking about trophies

Funny, but Bobby Avril, Chris Clemons and Michael Bennett were all free agent signings for the Seahawks that helped them win the Super Bowl. Just because one team, the Deadskins can't get it right means nothing for the Denver Broncos

I love how everyone knocks us for getting these big name players when they know if there team signed them they would be doing back flips if there team made the exact signing. Did the Broncos over pay? Maybe. But who else were they going to spend all that money*on? I love these signings.

The biggest difference between our signings and the Redskins signings in the past is we already have a really good team. These signings are only going to make us better, especially on defense where we needed it most. We have signed and paid players in positions we needed most.
WE ARE WHO THEY THOUGHT WE WERE

                  LMAO!!!!!

you guys talked smack on us for signing a "washed u" future HOF pass rusher for waaaaaaay less than that.

how in the hell can any of you donkey fans flip the script and call this a good signing?

speaking of elway, its going to be interesting to see if he gets to keep his job 4 or 5 years down the road when the broncos are in rebuild mode and suck to high heaven?

you better hope they get a SB out of this, if not i bet elway gets canned eventually.

i know for a 100% fact that if we singed ware for $30 million your fans would be letting us have it right now on the forums. last year you guys smacked on us for signing freeney for way less than that.

because he was "washed up" look at the season ware had last year, a clear decline. sure he can bounce back, just like i think freeney possibly could too.

but lets not be hypocrites, shall we?

Technically it’s since 1986 since he didn’t win his first division title until that year and since the Raiders won their third Superbowl in January 1984. Third Superbowl title, as in you’re not talking to the Raiders in this tone. Why?

John Elway’s record against the Raiders before Shanahan got here was 8-17, give or take a loss due to his injury. This includes his 0-1 playoff record vs. the Raiders. This is kicking ass?

After Shanahan got here, the record upped to a mere 15-18. Is this kicking ass?

If true fans value League Championships more than division crowns, which I’m sure you do, then you’ll realize that Elway’s kicking SOME AFC West ass since 1986 has resulted in him inching closer to tying the historically best team in this division, the Raiders. Yes we suck today and have sucked for 12 years and gave Elway and his predecessors time to catch up. But you know who the true AFC West kings are!

I mean we almost have as many punters in the Hall of Fame than you do PLAYERS in total. Now for THIS, I give Elway credit.

I do congratulate you on winning free agency for a third year in a row. So far it’s gotten you a 1st round knockout in the playoffs and a 1st round knockout in the Superbowl. Shoring up the defense is fine but how about toughening up the offense since you ONLY scored 8 in the game that mattered the most.

By the way, the Chargers won 4 straight AFC West titles too recently and got them almost as far as you. But keep on kicking ass. Chump.

                        Lets look at FA

We pick up Talib, Ware, Ward. All solid signings..if not a little too much for two of them. Hey win now I guess. Needs addressed nicely.

                        SD...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Raiders 60 million in cap space..

                        Lose Houston
                        Lose Jennings
                        Lose Veldheer

                        All best at their positions.

Pay injury waiting to happen McFadden to stay.
Overpay for Saffold...who can car pool to the ER with McFadden

KC - so close and just got farther away. 3 starting O-line players gone. Just like that. well done. Thats the way to stop Charles!

I like our off season just a little more than the rest of the AFC West.

Yes indeed, and I believe we've had the best offseason in the NFL, so far.....which is pretty good given we have been the top seed in the AFC for the last 2 years.

And getting Clady and Miller back is like adding two All Pros!

because freeney was a washed up one trick pony signed as the salvation of your defense

ware is younger and a complement to miller as book end rushers

freeney last four seasons not includeing 2013
