  • Ray Rice? Aaron Hernadez?

So what happened to little Ray since he went all Bobby Brown on his wife? Any repercussions Mr. Goodell?

Seems like as long as the offense isn't close to or during the NFL season then player gets away with it.

Haven't heard anything about the Hernandez case since the end of the season either.

With Rice, I guess we'll see with further developments. Personally, I think it should just be a thing where you do the time, but when the time is over you just go back to playing. Let the judge and jury punish Rice, no need for Goodell to do it. Similar to what happened with Vick, he did his 2 years and came back.

As for Hernandez, I'm pretty sure his case is out of Goodell's hands. If he gets convicted, he may get life in prison. He should never play in the NFL again if he did kill Oden Lloyd like he probably did(mostly because he should get a life or death sentence), but if he gets convicted it'll likely be a non issue because he'll be in prison too long without the field training to be able to come back at a high level(if he even gets out at all).

Plus, it would be even harder for him to come back with the position change-----going from a Tight End to a Wide Receiver

The NFL is waiting to receive enough information with the Rice situation. They do this with every player. Once Rice situation is settled with law enforcement, the NFL will act depending on the result. If he is punished by the law, he'll face suspension from the NFL.

As for Hernandez, he's in prison and his case is still on going. His career in the NFL is over, don't think they need to officially announce a punishment for a player in jail, whom even if he gets out, won't get signed by a team.

I think my original post was interpreted wrong when comes to the Hernandez case. I know he is sitting in a jail cell, I just noticed the coverage of the whole thing has seemingly disappeared. More of a statement on the media than NFL.

What's the deal with Rice, police investigating? I never even heard Goodell, NFL, or Ravens comment on the issue. The viral video was out there and never heard any comment.

The Massachusetts authorities have indicted Hernandez' two pals on murder charges, probably trying to get them to flip. Also, this past week, Hernandez was indicted on two more charges...one, an assault and battery on another inmate and the other, a charge of threatening a jail employee.

Aaron's got to be a total loser.

Don't you all find it interesting that there has not been one single word from either NFL Network or ESPN about the Darren Sharper serial rape case? I know he's out of the league, but not one stinking word about a serial rapist accused of drugging and raping women in at least 5 different states. Something stinks about it.

I feel the NFL Network is trying to protect their own stinking image because they employed him rather than telling the truth here. It pisses me off to no end that they are more interested in protecting themselves rather than being true journalists. Protecting a rapist once again. Why am I not surprised.

You probably hit on it.....he's out of the League, and they don't want to re-connect with him!

As if, we'll just forget to make the connection. PR, all the way.

You got that right. They're hoping we'll forget and not make the connection between him and the NFL Network. Won't work. I've written emails to them and ESPN questioning this and haven't received an answer. I'm not holding my breath.

Hadn't heard the Darren Sharper deal.
There is definitely some problems with the NFL discipline, lacks consistency seemingly to protect their image. Goodell was supposed to be the guy that cleaned up the NFL, not so much.

Another case I haven't heard of in a while is the Dwayne Bowe case. Miller was suspended for being a repeat offender, Bowe is too and I haven't heard him get any discipline.

It also is embarrassing that these grown men can't conduct themselves with some self respect. They got the world by the tail but can't keep it together. Yeah MLB has PEDs but NFL seems like a league of want-a-be felons.
