Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Since I can remember, Sundays have always been planned around when 'the game' is on during football season. You make it sound as if they consider it something to do like watching a movie or playing Yahtzee. For real?
yes, that's exactly how it is there. i mean, there is a lot of stuff to do but going to sporting events there is like going to the beach. its not just limited to chargers fans either, its just how it is in socal and it's how it will be in LA when they get their NFL teams.
sure you still have your die hard fans of course, not saying they don't exist because they certainly do.
But why? You guys were in the playoff race, KC was 1-2 when they played NE, and their fans made it hard on Brady, you guys had a winning record and was in the 5th seed when playing NE. Then Last week you guys could of kept maybe the 6th seed had you win, Wheres the passion? Now if you guys were the Raiders I would understand since they aren't going anywhere this year.
Don't give me this bullcrap about "we can't beat the best teams in the NFL" because did you guys forget you beat Seattle and made Richard Sherman look like just another CB.
don't ask me, i'm not there anymore to feel the pulse of what most charger fans are thinking.
what i do know is this......after seeing that disgusting display of orange in our stands? i'm in full support of the chargers leaving SD for greener pastures.
i don't think i have seen anything like that, even in our stadium, even during raider games. the bronco badwagon is strong in that city right now apparently.
You think all the time he spent in Denver he would realize Chargers fans only show up when they are leading in the division or have a 100% shot at being in the playoffs
Even when they were good it was always easy to get tickets, and we always had more bronco jerseys then you would see in any rival stadium. Though its a lot harder when they have the division clinched
Most Charger fans wouldnt even show up to bars to watch the games (and the games were sometimes not even on local TV early in the year, because the Raiders usually play at the same time and they tended to get good crowds at least in the beginning of the year unlike SD) until the team was doing well. You would normally see the pool of fans grow more and more as the teams chances get better.
SD in the state is considered the 3rd team, heck there are still left over Rams fans from when they were in LA, and thats there biggest problem. Not to mention that in the pacific area college football is almost as big as it is in the south if not just as big. In SD there are plenty of transplants who favor other teams and outside it people have loyalty to one of the other teams. They have never really been able to build a solid fanbase but those who are true Charger fans are still loyal (and hate the bandwagon fans) but there isnt enough of them to really get the team the energy it needs. One of my friends who grew up in SD and lived in Denver has said that despite having over 1,000,000,000 more people then Denver it would be an overestimate to even say they have 80% the fans within the the city area.
In all honesty they need to leave the state if they ever want a solid fanbase, they need to go somewhere where the team would be appreciated. Right now they cant develop a fanbase unless they become a contender and they cant be a contender without the fanbase so its lose lose.

i'm telling you, it's socal. the football culture is far different there than it is in the entire state of texas. in texas and many other places, football is like a religion. in socal, football and every other sport is no big deal, it's just something to do on the weekends.
it's not going to be any different in LA either, if you don't win they won't support you and just go do something else that day. again, no big deal to them.
i remember when i first moved here to omaha when i was in my early teens from SD and was blown away how the entire state would shut down just when the huskers would play. at the time that was weird and foreign to me, now it's weird how sports fans in socal don't even care about college football or the NFL really.
had i stayed living there i might be the same way.
This pretty much sums it up.
I used to live in CAL (Orange County) and I agree with everything you wrote.
Football takes a back seat to outside life when you live in a city that has much
to offer (waterfront, outdoor activities, etc).
I see the same trend in Chicago when the waterfront and downtown is in full swing.
Football takes a back seat to almost everything the city has to offer.
In cities like Arlington, Denver, Kansas City, etc. where football is pretty much the alpha
and omega, football will always be prominent.
I am not stating there's nothing to do in DEN besides football, but when I attend football
games in DEN I usually arrive Sat night and leave Mon morning.
Although DEN is up and coming, you cannot compare what it has to offer
against cities like SD, NYC, CHI, SF.

are you being serious? they care less about college football than the NFL. if you are a winner then they care, like USC and the lakers (when they are good). that's the point, unless you are the talk of the town they don't care about you in socal, it's just the way it is.
its funny when i listen to the local SD sports radio station and hear them pleading with people to pay attention to college football, that station is heard in LA as well.
oh and don't you find it funny that the past few years the freaking clippers have better attendance than the lakers?
The team announced late Tuesday that it will not exercise the termination clause in its Qualcomm Stadium lease, something it has had the ability to do every Feb. 1 since 2007.
“It’s great news,” Mayor Kevin Faulconer said Tuesday night. “The Chargers belong right here in San Diego. I’m looking forward to working productively with them on a solution, and I’m confident we can achieve one together -- and one the public will support.”
that is pretty big news, especially if the rumors are correct and there will be two teams in LA in 2015/2016.

that says it all right there......
Fair point though I have seen a lot more people rooting for UCLA then the Chargers, but yeah, still its not like Colorado though doesnt have outdoor activities. In fact studies have shown coloradans are healthier and do participate in outdoor activities more often, though yes its a bit farther to go skiing then it would be to surf.
