Seriously this guy needs to probably just call it a career otherwise he's going to be in a lot of pain when he gets older. But all smack a side a sideI do wish him the best.

That guy is so injury prone it isn't funny. Pats fans can blame the Madden Curse this year.

Comments from one pats fan on NFL.com about every time they see derby catch a pass from us they are angry they let him go, lol.

I wish him the best in his recovery. I feel the same about him and Romo. Good/Great players, but imo the smartest think they can both do is retire now. Go be an analyst or something and enjoy the rewards of what they have accomplished. I feel much more damage to either and their quality of life later on may suffer severely. Good luck to both of them.

I'm not going to talk smack about a player injured, especially one who is as dominant as Gronkowski is, when healthy. But this will be an issue for the Patriots this year, Brady's effectiveness drops considerably without Gronkowski in the lineup. Going forward you also have to wonder if the Patriots won't start thinking about finding Gronkowski's replacement? Not for an next season (although perhaps they draft him this year) but for the point where Belichick feels Gronkowski's value is greater being moved than on the team.

And for Gronkowski...despite being someone who avidly dislikes the Patriots, I fully admit that Gronkowski is the most dominant player in the league. The difference between him and the second best TE is greater than the difference between 1 and 2 at any position. I'm starting to wonder if injuries won't ultimately end his career quicker than it should end? And if that will keep him from rewriting the TE record book?

With all due respect to Gronkowski, I have yet to see anything that leads me to believe he's articulate enough to be an analyst. However I did read somewhere that he hasn't spent $1 of his contracts, he lives on his endorsement deals at this point and puts his contract money away to live on after football ends.

For this he is the ultimate smart athlete. And if he's one this perhaps the way people (me) perceive him is wrong and his is articulate enough to be an analyst?
