  • Baphs Predicts Denver Collapse!!

After going 9-7 with a second year player starting 14 games at QB and a rookie starting 2 at QB, Baphs is predicting we could end up the #3 worse team in the NFL. What do you all think?

defensively, i'm sure they will still be pretty good. top 10 i'm sure but yet another step back and really not capable of carrying an offense anymore without their defensive mastermind and that's assuming they stay pretty dang healthy like they were last season.

if the broncos lose some key players on defense to injury, it could get ugly for them......like top 3 pick in the 2018 draft ugly.

this place got boring fast now that the broncos are a mediocre team, so i figure i will liven the place up a little bit.

    you can thank me later.
I think Baphs is Wrong and i can see us winning between 8 and 12 games based on who wins our QB job and how well they play.

So i am going to say Denver goes 10-6 win the division and win their first round game at home but lose in Foxboro in the Divisional round. (And that is based on not knowing the rest of our draft who wins some key starting positions - LT, Qb, TE, DE (opposite Wolfe)

why not just respond to the thread i made on the topic? also, a top 10 pick could be anything from 0 wins to 7 or 8 wins depending on what the other teams do. i don't think they get more than 5 or 6 honestly.

So you dont think the broncos...who despite a horrible oline and a basically rookie qb...and still won nine games

And now completely upgraded the oline...added a huge talent on the dline...a playmaker on special teams and offense

Will win more than 6 games?

      Lmao!!

We aint the 5-11 la jv team

no, i don't think that offense has improved that much. i don't think your QB no matter who it ends up being will be good enough to compete with the other teams in the division. i also think the broncos need a good and consistent running game and without that your offense will be bad IMO.

every team in the division has a good pass rush and even if you did upgrade at DL, you clearly downgraded at DC. before wade got there your defense was good but not elite, now what's going to happen without him?

your defense is going to have to stay healthy to have any real shot this year, your entire team will have to remain healthy like it was for the most part last year and even then you guys missed the playoffs.

ya'll have work to do on offense, you better just hope that defense is still good by the time the offense catches up in a couple years, if they do that is.

          Lol...i love your bogus opinions
          They are always wrong.

Again...a running game that had a terrible oline...lost a probowl rb...lost the fb
And still was nearly identical to yours...you keep insisting the broncos run game was horrid..and will continue...but it was almost identical to yours...and you fail to see the stupidiy of your comment

And how do you know losing wade will drop us...you mean solid coaches that have coached under him...cant keep it going?
Sounds like a wish and a prayer...or fear

And now our defenses only hope is to stay healthy. ...we dont need your injury excuse
Our defense will be top 5 and much better than the bolts again

I cant wait for week one and the start of your excuses. ..should be funny

man, if it were not for 58miller, i would say you are the king of putting words in my mouth. i never said your running game was horrid, it's inconsistent and the broncos need their running game to be a lot better than the chargers do because the chargers have a veteran QB that is actually worthy of being a starter lol

i also didn't say your running game issues would continue, more words placed in my mouth. i said your offense as a whole would be bad if you don't find a consistent running game to lean on.

ive actually said multiple times around here that if elway has an amazing draft and improves the OL and running game a lot, the broncos will be back in the mix for the playoffs.

without that? i don't think they are a playoff team, i just don't. i don't know what the exact effect of losing wade will have on your defense, i just know the effect he had when he got there and it's not like he was replacing a bum at DC.

it's also not like wade has not worked wonders for multiple defenses before, once upon a time he helped turn the chargers defense into a top 5 squad as well.

it's simply amazing that guy was allowed to walk. at least the chargers lost him because he became a HC, elway let that dude go be a DC somewhere else, just doesn't make any sense.

as far as injury excuses go, we face week 1......if i make an injury excuse, it will be because the chargers lost rivers in the pre-season or the chargers lost 10+ guys to IR in the pre-season already lol

it's not going to happen. you are going to face a top 5 offense and a top 10-15 defense with a good pass rush. the chargers have added 3 new potential OL starters, they added a new offensive weapon, their only weakness right now is safety and depth at various positions like all teams (assuming the OL additions pan out).

yeah, they are a very well rounded team and playoff bound if they can stay relatively healthy, you will see week 1 and no excuses will be needed, except by you.

oh and by the way.....i know you guys needed a LT and all but the chargers got a better OL player in the second round than you guys got in the first

ill admit, bolles might turn into an outstanding LT but there are a few concerns about him on and off the field as well as his limited experience and his age factor. that is a lot of variables for a top 20 pick in the draft.

the only knock on lamp is he's another t rex arm that will move inside due to that fact but otherwise he is rock solid. the chargers got the two best guards in the draft and upgraded at LT thanks to the donks.

i'm sure glad we got okung and not the ones taking the chance on bolles right now

elway.....that dude is not the drafting god you guys proclaim that he is.

I voted 8-12 but I am more in the 10-12 range..its hard to win 13 games with a schedule and division like ours

Yes yes we know EVERYONE the chargers got is better than the players Denver got in the draft Free agency and post draft udfas....

okung was over hyped and played well below that pay in a "prove it year" He couldn't. So we declined to pick up that stupid salary. You guys are paying more for him .I am glad you got him too. :thumb: Now that he has a contract that cant be voided by the team look for him to miss games like he did In Seattle. I will give you this He is a tiny bit better pick up than Franklin ever was

dude, lamp was the best or second best LT in major college football the last three years according to PFF. he would have been a top 10 pick at LT if he had longer arms. bolles has a lot of question marks for a top 20 pick, that's not even really smack, i know you are fully aware of this.

                        6. Forrest Lamp, OL, Western Kentucky (Round 2, pick No. 38 overall)

For all the talk about a weak offensive line class, the Chargers were somehow able to manage the draft’s best offensive lineman all the way at the top of the second round. Lamp was the highest-graded left tackle in the FBS in 2014 and 2015 before finishing second in an injury-shortened 2016. That sort of consistency is reminiscent of Cody Whitehair a season ago, who ended up being a top-five center for the Bears as a rookie. There’s no reason to think that Lamp can’t have that kind of impact anywhere along the offensive line.
Senior Analyst Mike Renner identifies the top value picks of the draft, including Jonathan Allen at No. 17 overall.

yes the chargers clearly over-paid for okung, i don't dispute that. that said, i would much rather have him than waste a top 20 pick on a guy that probably should have been a second round pick who may or may not turn into a solid starter.

not to mention the shortened shelf life of drafting a 25 year old rookie lineman.

hilarious that the rumor is elway almost traded up for him, i guess that's why teams were over-paying for already proven LT's like okung because in the draft there wasn't much to choose from in terms of first round talent.

the bolles pick reminds me a little bit of the lynch pick. it's a position the broncos were forced to address in the first round when there really wasn't a first round talent there.

oh and getting desmond king in the 5th round? the chargers had two major steals of the draft. the chargers addressed their OL with the best two guards of the draft and added another weapon who is like adding a vincent jackson to the mix at worst.

tell me if you disagree with any of that.

childish smack is ignoring all the football points i am making and just whining about me and the way i talk smack.

just more words being put in my mouth because you can't deal with the points i am making. i never said i didn't like any of the broncos picks, i'm just talking about the bolles pick, which was clearly a reach similar to the lynch pick. the jbooty pick wasn't bad and addressed a major need. some would argue it was a bit of a steal as well.

It will come down to the offensive line if they got better we can have a great season if not 7-8 wins isnt a bad guess
