Uh Brady left the game early but does that mean he did not benefit from the patriots winning that game???

Based on interviews with more than 90 league officials, owners, team executives, coaches and current and former players — the Patriots spied on opponents for at least seven years before the 2007 Spygate scandal broke. The Patriots began taping other team’s signals in 2000, Bill Belichick’s first year as head coach in New England, the report said.

Reports also state that handwritten notes from the 2001 championship game that detailed Steelers signals and other scouting information were part of the evidence NFL employees destroyed in 2007.

This is all going to come out someday and in great detail, whoever is sitting on it is taking their sweet time but it'll happen. Perhaps when BB cheetah Tom retire, however it should be done now and I believe it would if not for idiot Goodell.

Its amazing how Brady has gotten a complete pass for losses like this for the bulk of his career, simply because his defense and K saved him in 3 early SBs.

The Rams had 3 points going into the 4th qtr in 2001. How in the world does Brady get credit for that? He went 16-27 for 145 yards and 1 TD, rating of 86.2. That’ts it. But he "won" the game because of one good drive that shouldn’t have meant anything if his defense hadn’t slowed down the Greatest Show on Turf.

I will admit he played really well in the 2003 and 2004 SBs, but his team won by a combined 9 points in his 3 SB wins. That is terrible.

    And then the losing happened.
    2005 – @ DEN (div round)
    2006 – @ IND (conf round)
2007 – vs. a mediocre 10-6 NYG team in the SB
    2008 – injured
2009 – vs. BAL (wc round) – got punked at home 33-14, who lost the following week to Indianapolis 20-3
2010 – vs. NYJ (div round) – they lose at home to the Sanchize? Really?
2011 – vs an even more mediocre NYG team in another SB
2012 – vs. BAL (conf round) – got punked at home again, 28-13
    2013 – @ DEN (conf round)
2014 – Finally, 10 years later, he didn’t have to face Manning (0-2), DEN (0-2), BAL (1-2) or the Jets (0-1) in the AFC playoffs. Needed miracle on the goal line by his defense to win.
2015 – @ DEN (conf round). Now 0-3 at Mile High in the playoffs
2016 – Got down 25 points in the SB and needed another miracle to get a win.

This guy is the luckiest QB in the history of the NFL and routinely got bounced from the playoffs to inferior teams, despite playing most of his games at home. Of course, he has had Belichick and that defense to bail him out time and time again.

From 2001-2010 (when Manning played his last year in IND), NE allowed the 3rd fewest points (2872 or 17.95/gm). IND ranked 14th (3348 or 20.93/gm). NE ranked 5th in defensive passer rating (75.9), while IND ranked 22nd (83.8). NE was 17th in YPC allowed (4.12), but IND was 30th in YPC allowed (4.48).

From 2012-2016, NE has allowed the 2nd fewest points (1547 or 19.34/gm) while DEN has allowed the 5th fewest points (1635 or 20.44/gm). NE is 8th in defensive passer rating (84.7) while DEN is 3rd (79.2). NE is 9th in YPC allowed (4.06) while DEN is 3rd (3.77).

Basically, his defense is almost always in the top 10, and often times in the top 5 in scoring and passer rating. Even when he does play poorly, they bail him out. And he still found ways to lose for 10 straight years.

Finally, he is 1-3 against Manning in the Conf Champ round. He is 0-3 against DEN. He is 2-2 against BAL despite playing all 4 games at home. And he lost to the Sanchize.

So the 2012 loss to BAL sucks the most because it could have given Manning a 3rd SB and a 4th win against Brady in the Conf Champ game and DEN would also be 4-0 at home against Brady.

    Great googly, moogly.

Great post but a little incomplete, please post the doncos and the manning led colts playoff record during 2001- 2016. That would give a more accurate picture on how the Tom Brady led patriots playoff records compares to both the doncos and colts playoff records during the same period.

I wont hold my breathe waiting for the comparison because it doesn't paint a pretty picture of those two teams playoff records compared to the 5 time champion NE Patriots.
