Every year is different. In 2015 you were 13-3 and had home field advantage. This year you probably won’t be so lucky with KC and Pittsburgh most likely getting the 1 and 2 seeds.

There have been teams with bad/average regular season defenses that end up winning the super bowl - 2009 Saints, 2006 Colts, 2011 Giants and 2007 Giants. Once you get in the tournament, anything can happen. The key is to be playing your best defensive football in January. By the same token, I have seen great NE patriots teams play awesome early on in the season only to struggle when it counted the most. This is why I keep saying throw the September/October stats out the window.

The Patriots aren't just bad, they're historically bad. As good as their offense is, they give up 30 more yards per game than they get, and they do it while winning the TOP battle. The 31st defense is closer to the 17th defense than they are the Patriots. You can't win a Super Bowl that way. I'm sure they'll get it levelled out somewhat, but it will keep popping up all season, they'll give up less than 300 yards and 20 points for a few games in a row and then boom 450 yards and 30 points.

The Patriots will have to outscore their problems all season, that's a tough task.

This Denver defense is not the 85’ bears , 00’ Ravens or 02’ Bucs. For that formula to work (ie- shut opponents down defensively and score just enough to win), you really need have the ability to annhiliate teams defensively. Denver almost lost to Oakland because they couldn’t score enough points. Denver should have won that game handily by a score of 30-10. What do you think Ben Roethlisberger will do? Or Alex Smith?

Shut the opponents down and score just enough to win? That wasn't the 85 bears who score 485 point or 2nd in the league 28.5 PPG How old are you? Did you really start watching football after 2001? Big Ben is struggling badly this season so i think he will suck vs our defense and we will find out what Smith does twice for sure.

EVERYBODY struggles vs our defense. The Steelers are 21st in total offense and 18th in points scored. We are better in both at 13th and 11th They are struggling as is Ben

I don’t think Bill meant it as a slight against Wade. Denver also has the personnel to knock Newton around. NE doesn’t have Von Miller. I think Bill sometimes is too afraid of the running QB, but he does have a point. Look at what Alex Smith did against Washington last night. If smith were a stationary QB, washington wins.

Actually Bill B said Wade completely surprised him in the AFCC game because he didn't do what he usually does. Wade usually does the same thing but for that game he didn't follow his tendencies and Bill B had no answers. Bill B said it was a brilliant defensive game and one of the best he'd seen.

Hey derp, do you realize we are averaging 210 yards per game passing which makes us the 10th best passing defense with that number. It's a passing league in 2017, 213 yards is actually a very good number. It amazes me sometimes how little you know about football if it does not involve the patriots....

You may not realize this, but we're actually on pace to break the 1982 Steelers record of fewest rushing yards allowed (they only played 9 games that year....let that sink in, our rush defense is so good, we're on pace to beat a record set in a period where 7 fewer games were played)

If that makes you the 10th best passing defense, then the denver secondary is not the best unit in the league, which i thought it was. Being ranked 10th for the NFZ is not good.

213 yards were against tyrod taylor, who is a middle of the pack QB. And the bills don’t have great receivers either.
