  • i'll give credit where credit is due....

the broncos had a pretty good draft i must admit, best in the division this year, on paper at least.

chubb while a no brainer pick was arguably the best player in the draft and elway did good by taking him rather than trading the pick. really i liked the first 3 picks the broncs made and i do think the broncos got better this off season.

that said, the broncos didn't address the OL until the 6th round and it's obvious that they are not happy with their offensive weapons even with DT and sanders, considering they drafted 2 more WR's.

overall i think the broncos and elway deserve the credit they are getting from this years draft, congrats!

yeah the raiders had a confusing draft. it's easy to see what the chargers were trying to accomplish for gus bradley's defense, a bunch of fast and physical guys they drafted. even though i don't think enough was done about the interior DL.

Only so many picks and a lot of teams looking for the same thing.. including ours...

Bradley had assembled a scary amount of D talent that fits what he is doing... it’s going to be interesting this year..

agreed, a lot of teams are looking for those safety LB'er hybrids that can do lots of different things. on a side note, the chargers signed this kid which i think is pretty cool.

In 2012, Zack Golditch sustained a bullet wound at the showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado. He recovered and continued playing high school football, dreaming of one day reaching the NFL.

On Saturday he landed a free-agent deal with the Chargers.

Sig bet for a calendar year on who has the best record, Raiders or Broncos. Put your money where your mouth is as we celebrate less than 48 hours after the draft. :thumb:

Don't punk out, Eddie. Let's do this.

              Thanks Baphs.

Sanders and DT are both on their ninth seasons at ages 31 and 30, so the writing is on the wall and these are potential replacements.

I bet they wanted Roquan or McGlinchey, and they both went right in front of them. lol. Heard a lot of reports saying they were infatuated with Smith before the draft, and they took a tackle after trading back. I think the same thing happened to the Asshawks, when they traded back and hit the panic button on a running back. The live cam inside Seattle's war room was interesting.

The Chargers lucked out like we did.

Haha thanks. I had to do it. It wasn't to call you out specifically, just the first person that I saw talk about our head scratching draft. You're the winner.

Quickly about our draft, overall it was a good weekend. I would LOVE to question the first two days, but they had Miller high on their board. Also, we needed tackles with the rushers in this division. Tom Cable may do something for them. We'll see. Martavis Bryant was a gift IF he stays on the straight and narrow. A potentially good offense on paper. We also potentially have a top 5 special teams unit with our trade from Dallas and the two Florida kicker/punter specialists we signed. Still gonna miss King, though. That was my dude despite what others think. I understand the weirdo lol. The one part of the draft that I love is the defensive tackles. We took a top 10 player in Hurst who hopefully for his sake will be fine. And PJ Hall, who ran a 4.7 at 308 pounds. Also blocks field goals. Yes this draft had Al Davis all over it, later years Al Davis, but we'll see. A lot of risks that MAY not give as many awards as busts.

Now as for our bet, maybe...

Best overall record - Loser wears sig until May 1, 2019
Best post season finish - Loser wears sig until August 1, 2019
Superbowl appearance - Loser wears sig until beginning of the 2019 NFL season
Superbowl winner - Loser wears sig AND Custom User Title until end of the 2019 NFL season

I'm open for suggestions. All this and I still think the Chargers will win the division lol but I have a gambling problem so all my chips are on the table.

i doubt they would have taken McGlinchey and Roquan was likely never going to be there when they picked. but i think they might have taken Edmunds if the bills didn't trade up ahead of them, he would have been a great fit.

Edmunds would've been about as big of a no brainer as James and Chubb were.

The Raiders actually got lucky, because their backup plan was projected late first round. lol. It could've been worse.
