The only things I have left to say about the Chargers is that the last (only) time they played in the Super Bowl, most of the population had no idea what the internet was?
-The league was 28 teams.
-Cities that didn't have NFL teams at the time: Charlotte, Jacksonville, Baltimore, St Louis (before the Rams), Nashville.
-DVDs had yet to be invented
-The Dow Jones still had yet to breakthrough the 4000 barrier
-Seinfeld, ER, Home Improvement and Grace Under Fire were the top 4 TV shows
-The OJ Simpson trial had just begun
-The Colorado Avalanche were still the Quebec Nordiques
-Michael Jordan was retired...the first time
-The World Series had just been cancelled for the only time in history

Think about how distant most of these things seem, and now realize they're all equal to the last time the Chargers played in the Super Bowl. Perhaps one day they'll get a real QB like Stan Humphries again, right now they've got the overrated stats compiler who piles up the numbers in losses, but can be counted on to throw a bad interception when the chips are on the table.

I think Manti's GF was about 2 or 3 at the time of that SB, right??

Throwing go ahead 4th qrt touchdowns is what you want from playoff QBs, not passionate G rated temper tantrums like your current Qb who hasn’t been to the postseason in 4 years.

The only Qb to ever carry the Chargers to the Super Bowl. He's the greatest QB in Chargers history. And yes, I watched every minute of that beatdown. The Chargers DBs couldn't cover slant routes, which the 49ers kept calling over and over and over again. The "strength" of that team was brutal. How can a safety not help tackle on a slant route? How can a linebacker not plus out and either make a play or a tackle on a slant route? Stanley the Sheriff Richards and Darren Carrington coming up big in that game...

The drive, the helicopter, Super Bowl MVP are what i think of about Elway all postseason wins!

The catch, multiple Super Bowl MVP’s including the game winner vs Cincinnati in the Supwrbowl is what Montana is remembered for.

Brady multiple Super Bowl MVP’s as well.
