  • Denver 3 point favorites over Seattle

Denver is considered a three-point favorite over the Seahawks for Week 1, according to Westgate Las Vegas (via OddsShark.com). Home teams are usually spotted a three-point advantage, so the Broncos certainly aren’t big favorites.

Denver will be debuting a new-look offense, led by quarterback Case Keenum. The team will also start rookie Royce Freeman at running back and the offensive line will feature two new starters in right guard Connor McGovern and right tackle Jared Veldheer.

Seattle will bring an offense that features star quarterback Russell Wilson, who will be targetting Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett and former Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

On defense, rookie outside linebacker Bradley Chubb will be making his NFL debut, starting across from Von Miller for the Broncos. Fellow edge defenders Shaq Barrett and Shane Ray will also be rotated in throughout the contest.

The game will be played on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2:25 p.m. MT on FOX.
Funny how the writer doesn’t go into any detail about Seattles Legion of boom defense! Oh yeah that’s right that defense is long gone but I must say that it would be hard for any defense to contain Thomas, Sanders and Sutton. We’ll also have some nice packages for Freeman and Janovich to mix as well as Heuerman and Butt.

    Week 1 AFC West predictions

    Denver over Seattle 31-14
    Kansas City over LA 24-17
    LA Rams over Oakland 45-17

Seattle is a shell of their former selves. Hard to believe how far they've fallen since making repeat trips to the SB just a few years ago. Proof positive how hard it is to sustain excellence in the NFL.

With that said, this should serve as a good measuring stick for Denver. If they want to show significant improvement from last year, this is a game they need to win.

Just heard over Twitter that unless the Earl Thomas camp can settle there issues with the Seattle FO before Friday, he will not play.

They’ve got so many issues goin in up there that every other NFL team not named the buffalo bills should be counting their blessings right now.

Seattle is still a pretty good team. Part of the reason they are not as good anymore is because Pete Carroll doesn’t have all the intel on college players like he used to since he was a coach at USC.
Super Bowl Wins: Brady - 6 Elway - 2 Manning - 2 (played well in none and took HGH)

Pete Carroll hasn't been the same since the infamous pass. If he had just ran the ball, life would be different for him.

I worry we're being too overconfident. Not sure how it happens, but it seems every time the fans/media are overconfident... that flows to the players.

The last couple years the Broncos have started the season well. I hope that continues, especially because I'm going to this game! Ha.

He lost his team after that point. In reality it wad their OC who made the call. But Carroll was incredibly cocky on that drive. He told Russell Wilson, “2 minutes left. 3 timeouts. I’d never give you one this easy [in practice]. We’ve done this a million times.” And he’s right, he ran that goalline slant pass many times, and the Pats were ready.

I was so glad the Pats broke the Seahawks heart that game. One of the few times I'll be rooting for the Pats, but it was glorious!

Well I hope the “only 3 points fav.” affects the broncos Defenders ego then lol but check out all the key players from last season that Seattle will be missing on Sunday.

Everyone else in the room was rooting for Seattle that day but it was one year removed from Super Bowl 48 and I was so sick and tired of hearing the Seattle fans run their mouths and listening to Richard Sherman cocky attitude whining 24/7 so I actually was rooting for the patriots that game but if I can go back I think I would cheer hard for Seattle but that would’ve been something to watch Seattle just bury the patriots. But hey it turned to be great watching the broncos bury them twice in 2015 And I believe we have that type of defense again this year in 2018 if not even more talented.

Easy there, lets not take it that far. It's ok to hate both equally. There was no winner in that game, only sad pathetic losers on both sides.

I think it'll be a really close game. I won't be able to watch it sadly...But I think it'll be a good one.

Alfred Williams/Big Al says “don’t expect anything special from Bradley Chubb this Sunday going against DJ Flucker”.

He also says the Seahawks O-line will be the best they’ve ever been this season!

I got a newsflash for ya... DJ Fluker won't be playing this Sunday. He's out.

And Seattle is not the cream puff that you Donkey fans are hoping for.
"Mike Harden, meet Steve Largent." KA-BOOM!!
