  • quarter 1 afc west observations.......

    1. KC has definitely proven they are actually the team to beat in the division, heck in the conference. (wrong again elway! )

    2. case keenum is not that good in denver just like i thought, he is only a slight upgrade over what they had last season

    3. the chargers defense has taken a pretty big step back from last season, even though derwin james looks like the best defensive player in the draft.

    4. the raiders are indeed a laughing stock like most of us predicted.

    5. KC's defense is vulnerable like most predicted, denver has done the best job slowing their offense down so far, if that becomes a trend i can see them falling off a little bit but PM seems like the real deal.

    6. denvers QB situation may not be great but their defense seems good and they are running the football better than they have in years, that's a good recipe for success if they make the playoffs.

    7. the chargers still have kicking issues as well as the injury bug and sloppy play but still a very potent offense and when bosa gets back it should change the dynamic of the defense.

    8. not sure what else i can say about the raiders other than they are going to lose this week.

if anything was proven last night its that KC although good, can be beaten and should have been beat last night :brick:

but their defense will not win them any post season games, and their offense can be slowed down

I think the biggest takeaway from the first 3 quarters last night, is that if you disguise coverages Mahomes becomes much much worse. Which most young QBs do. But once he gets against better DCs, he's going to have some real issues. Everyone is so quick to proclaim him the next great QB, he's started 5 games. Nick Foles had a 27:2 TD to interception ratio before he became a decent backup QB.

the chargers have continued to struggle kicking FG's and XP's so they fire the holder/punter........you can't make this stuff up!

We could say the same for Su’a Cravens, if he’d only get healthy and stay healthy Denver would have more time to pressure he QBs and we all know why.

really dude? okay, first of all a safety is nowhere near as valuable as a dominant edge rusher. derwin james is proof of that, he is dominating all over the field and it still doesn't have the same impact. but also, a player like Cravens is nowhere near a player the caliber of joey bosa and i'm not sure why that even needs to be said.

that's like saying not having von miller has a similar impact to not having cravens. it's going to impact the defense big time when bosa gets back, not sure by how much but it will, that's all i'm saying.

you would be saying the same thing if you didn't have von miller healthy, don't even act like you wouldn't.

Put your money where your mouth is. Sig bet until our rematch.

The Chargers are the type of team to lose to laughing stocks, like the 1-37 Browns before the Jets victory.

Here's another number. 1-3700. That's the Charger fan to Raider fan ratio this coming Sunday in Los Angeles.

Our offense is second in the league although we're, more importantly, 13th in scoring while the Chargers are 8th in scoring and 9th in offense.

This will be a shootout or a surprisingly low scoring game where someone's heart will be broken at the end either way. I'll go with 38-36 Raiders.

In other news, KC will go 14-2 and lose in the divisional round to the Jaguars. But the good news for them is that, like brothers and sisters in Chiefs land, Reid and Mahomes is a marriage made in Heaven.

Los Angeles will miss the playoffs in the last game of the season, losing the grip of a playoff spot they had throughout December. The Rams will make the Super Bowl and the Chargers will be a bigger afterthought than they already are. They'll be like the Jets or the Mets.

Denver is tricky. They have the tools on offense to stay in games but they're hit and miss. They have an excellent backfield and talented pass catchers across the board, but they also have Musgrave. I don't know if I told you about the frustrations of his playcalling despite his great work with Carr, but... well you know. Ask Vikings fans, they'll tell you.

                Shoutout to Marquette King. :thumb:

The Raiders will finish the season with stats far better than their record. I still predict 7 wins. Lynch if healthy will finish in the top 5 in rushing. Carr will finish with more picks than touchdowns. He'll have more picks than the Raiders have sacks. They'll pick 9th and 29th in the first round next year.

                Kansas City: 14-2
                Denver: 9-7
                Los Angeles: 9-7
                Oak Vegas: 7-9

Well since KC defense is so bad it just shows how bad keenum is and the denver offense

There is truth to this. Unfortunately vs. KC it shows more about bad coaching than a bad QB and both have been, how to put it mildly, less than desirable.

The funny thing is if Denver stops than during the 2nd and 30 debacle or even before, pushing for a TD instead of accepting a field goal, Denver would have put the game away and looked like heroes for taking down the high flying Chiefs. Unfortunately, doing what works to win seems to easy and we like to walk the hard path of losing... or something

Take a freakin chill pill because I’m talking about Su’as ability to cover TEs and giving our edge rushers more time to get the QB.

Pull your head out and stop being so damn defensive!

The most hilarious part of baphamet's nonsense was,
"a player like Cravens is nowhere near a player the caliber of joey bosa
and i'm not sure why that even needs to be said."

Baphamet makes a random claim then plays the victim.
The highlighted is a perfect example of his immaturity.
If it's not immaturity then it's trolling at its worst.

Sometimes trolls like him can be cute.

Spot on observations. The only thing I would add is how AFC west q.b's have performed so far.

                          Patrick Mahomes: 14 tds / 0 interceptions
                          Phillip Rivers: 11 tds / 2 interceptions
                          Derek Carr: 6 tds / 7 interceptions
                          Case Keenum: 3 tds / 6 interceptions

I have a feeling this list is about how the AFC west will shake up with wins and losses for each q.b's respective team.

oh you mean when the chargers team was absolutely decemiated? i'll take that bet by the way.

as if that is any different than any other game the chargers play? they are used to it. raiders fans should feel blessed, they get to watch their team lose twice to the chargers in person. i mean how sad is it when a team that plays 16 road games has a better record than yours? unfortunately for you, taking over a 30k seat stadium isn't going to be enough.

Our offense is second in the league although we're, more importantly, 13th in scoring while the Chargers are 8th in scoring and 9th in offense.

no raiturd pass rush = rivers will have a field day and so will keenan allen. meanwhile, gruden can continue to wish he took derwin james while he's sacking and intercepting carr.
