Guess he’ll be expected to be on pace to pass for 50 TDs every season, talk about pressure! Lol

I am more interested in winning games and less interested in records like leading in TDs or most times scratching your left butt cheek.

This is an interesting conversation. A couple thoughts from me.

Phillip Rivers- Consistency. Is it just me or is Phillip the second coming of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. One week he looks unstoppable, the next, meh. I don't watch the Chargers week in and week out so I could have a faulty opinion here, but that's my quick take on the guy.

Patrick Mahomes- Appears to be a generational phenomenon. If this guy is who he appears to be, the NFL record book one of these days is gonna be named "The story of my life/By Patrick Mahomes". And when you consider how awful our defense is, and where we stand record wise, it makes him look like a Greek God or something. BUT, like people here have mentioned, NFL history is littered with 1 year wonders. So, time will tell what we actually have here.

Just my thoughts, take 'em for what they are worth :thumb:

Well....while I have not paid attention to any one year wonders because the Chiefs didn't even have that much until now.....Mahomes just doesn't feel like he is going to be a one year wonder....for what that's worth.
As far as Phillip goes....It's because of the ups and downs.....which seems like more downs than ups to me...….that makes Rivers underwhelming in my eyes. Maybe it's because the Chiefs have had the Chargers number for years that is part of the reason for my views.

mahomes has weapons all around him, rivers has dealt with a of of adversity over his career. you do realize that unless the chiefs win tonight, rivers still doesn't have a losing record against the chiefs......you do the math.

this year he's been arguably the most consistent QB in the NFL

12 games in a row where he threw 2 TD's or more and only 3 other guys have done that in history. he hasn't had one bad game all year aside from the end of the broncos game debacle, which was just a miscommunication. the last game vs the chiefs he played well but his receivers dropped multiple TD's, something that doesn't usually happen.

in years past hes had some inconsistent performances but overall there have been more consistent QB's in the NFL, all of which will be going to the HOF, like rivers.

Philip Rivers hasn't missed an NFL start since Patrick Mahomes was a 10-year-old.
