  • Is Gruden Gone Yet? No - This is how much OAK owes him

    Folks,

    I stumbled upon a thing of internet beauty, behold... the Gruden counter;

Great for if you want to bask in how much long term damage OAK has committed to..... also great if you want to feel bad about the amount of money you make in comparison to the talk show head coach.

You're a little late, Zea. That site was created over 6 months ago.

The only thing Gruden did right last year was giving the city of Oakland an (at the time) going away present.

Speaking of, congrats on being the ONLY team Gruden embarrassed last year.

Id say Vance Joseph is more responsible for that loss than Gruden

Did you credit him for the win in our first game?

Hell no, I’d credit Philip Lindsay for that one. Lindsay added another dimension to a non existent one dimensional offense!

I'm not sure that's the type of return on investment the Raiders were after.

If so, then they should change their motto from "Just Win, Baby" to "Just Beat the Broncos (spare no expense)."

Ahh so you credit a player in a win and a coach in a loss. I get it.

How about Case Keenum? What's his role in the win and loss?

That’s not the way it is at all and you know me better than that!

Even though Keenum was as horrible as he was, Id still credit VJ in that loss because he was in way over his head and he lost the respect of his locker.

I’m not ignorantly blaming a coach, I’m blaming a coach that I saw fail in every aspect because I’m here in the centennial/Denver area very close to everyday happenings at UC health in Dove Valley.

Well since divisional games are the most important in an NFL season, it's a start. Coming from fans like you, who has said on more than one occasion that the Raiders are his most hated team, that investment is worth it this early part of the Gruden era. You know as well as I do that the majority of the Broncos fans consider the Raiders their biggest rival. Unless people were lying to Baph to prove him wrong.

Embarrassing a rival helps salve the pains of a lost season. I mean if there's only one thing I can look back at the Jamarcus Russell era...

Oh wait that was the second time.

Sure, Joseph is part to blame. But I'm not buying into him being over his head as the main reason for losing to a previously 3-11 team who seemingly lost the locker room before the season started.

After all, King Joseph did bring his team to a .500 record by beating two 7-2 teams during a 3 game win streak. Unless he had his headset off that entire game.

Joseph was awful but the team didn't do him any favors.

I stated many times last season that the broncos were far better than their record indicated and I stand by that statement today.

VJ never really had this team prepared, he had no business being the head coach in Denver but if you want me to place blame on some else other than him.

I would have to place blame on Elway and Musgrave before the players on the team.

Elway and Kubiak brought innCase Keenum when most others were very skeptical.

Yes keenum was horrible and deserves his share of the blame but I’d still place it on Elway and Musgrave who stubbornly ran a system that did not suit Keenum.

ummmmm that isn't true. most of you were definitely sold due to his 2017 campaign in Minnesota.

I thought you guys were better than your record indicated IF you had a decent starting QB that could at least manage the offense. it's possible that flacco could be that guy or at least be better but two of the three defenses he will face in the division are nasty and will get after him.

Well, if the Raiders new motto is "Just Beat the Broncos (spare no expense)" then that explains the Raiders lack of fiscal responsibility and endless "Gypsy" status.

Where will the Raiders FINALLY settle: Los Angeles, Oakland, Las Vegas or Mars? Tune in.

The only funny thing(s) about J. Russell include where the Raiders drafted him and his futile attempt to later play for free. Not even the Broncos wanted him for free, heck we signed Mr. Butt Fumble.

Baph, that just isn't true. I read the smack daily, and most were not sold in keenum, there were huge question marks. You had several posters arguing keenum with you, not most everyone, like you insinuate. You're the king of hyperbole
Here's hoping Champ gets into the Hall First Ballot. He deserves it!

This is funny coming from the fan of the franchise that has a "Raider Week". There's no Donkey Week for us.

As for where we'll play next, who cares. Since the motto is "Just Beat the Broncos (spare no expense), Baby" (gotta add the baby) achievements have been unlocked:

                              11-3 vs. Denver in L.A
                              24-22 vs. Denver in Oakland
Heck the Raiders even have a winning record IN Denver at 29-28-2

I say they've lived up to the Mozzerpete Motto no matter where they play. Where's next? London? Mexico? JaMarcus' folds?
