Honestly, every year I hear how "tough" the AFC West is, but I don't see it. Oakland is a loser franchise and has been that way since the early 2000s. They are equivalent of the Dolphins. The Broncos and Chiefs basically flip flopped in recent years as the only team from that division that can contend for the super bowl. When one of them is contending, the other team is the equivalent of the Bill's. San Diego has been a perennial choke team. Give them the edge over the Jets. Overall, the AFC West has been marginally better than the East.
Super Bowl Wins: Brady - 6 Elway - 2 Manning - 2 (played well in none and took HGH)

right now? as in this season only? sure. but the jets have had more than 6 wins in a season only once this decade. the phins? one winning season in the last decade. the bills? the bills do have two winning seasons this decade but they haven't hit double digit wins since the 90's

the afce has been a absolute joke for a long time. the teams in the afcw will bounce back and at least be competitive, unlike the east. heck man, even after brady retires the pats likely hold that weak ass division down, they don't need brady to do that.

The only team that will contend from the West in the near future is KC. Oakland is a mess with its ownership and have no QB of the future. LAC don't have a QB of the future or a good HC. And Denver is a complete mess for the same reasons.

In 2018 the AFC West had the 2nd highest out of division record after the AFC South. The AFC East was lowest in the league. It is for that reason we get respect and your division who mainly beat up each other does not.

Since Kubiaks stroke the Broncos have struggled to find their identity. The Chargers have a shaky fanbase and it gets to the players. The Raiders are being mismanaged. Still any one of these 3 teams have shown to have surprise seasons. The East is never competitive and it's not because the Patriots are that good but everyone else is constantly rebuilding

You might be right about the chargers QB situation but they still have a lot of talent. A lot can change in a year depending on what happens in the off season.

But the afce has been bad a long time, is there a more consistently bad division in the nfl the last decade or more?

Then tell me, why did the Pats go undefeated against the AFC West last year? And you might want to look at the data. Since 2000, our winning percentages vs the AFC South, NFC South, and AFC North have been better than our winning percentage against the AFC East.

Division Win - Loss Win Percentage
              AFC South 41 - 9 .820
              NFC South 17 - 5 .773
              AFC North 32 - 10 .762
              AFC East 83 - 29 .741
              NFC West 14 - 5 .737
              NFC North 16 - 6 .727
              NFC East 14 - 6 .700
              AFC West 31 - 16 .660
Super Bowl Wins: Brady - 6 Elway - 2 Manning - 2 (played well in none and took HGH)

              • the pansies could be in trouble in about 6 weeks because they haven't had any competition at all up to this point & have no idea what it will be like to play in such games...

combined record of the teams they have played so far is 12-32 & if you take buffalo (who nearly beat them) out it's an astonishing 7-31

we shall see what kind of team they actually have in 2 months when after the browns they have ravens, eagles, cowboys, texans & chiefs...i think the lack of competition so far is going to be detrimental to them when these teams roll up on them.

Sure, the Pats have only played crap teams so far. Of those teams, I would say the Ravens have the most realistic shot at beating us. We are playing them in Baltimore and Lamar Jackson is tough to stop. The Eagles have issues of their own and the Cowboys can't even beat the Jets. Moreover, the Pats always beat the Texans and Mahomes won't be healthy for the rest of the year, even if he does come back at some point.

All of that can change in one season. It's happened before.

Sure, but what makes you so optimistic for the turnaround? The AFCW has a combined total of 1 super bowl in 20 years...

Mahomes has a high ankle sprain that will linger for the rest of the season. Those don't go away in a few weeks. Not to mention his kneecap.

We are talking about your division which for 6 years has had a lower amount of non divisional wins and you bring up your winning percentage because you are the division to you.
                            2013-2018
AFC East non divisional wins 128
AFV West non divisional wins 132

By the way your 9 and 7 against us since Brady started by your logic we are a better team

Well Doctor TB_Dozen....who doesn't know the difference between a cow pie and an apple pie, 20 minutes ago ESPN showed Mahomes practicing with the offense and KC has not ruled him out for the GB game this week. The "experts" doubt he will play and don't think he will play the following week at home against the Vikings either but the point is maybe he's not as badly injured as everyone believed.

So put your stupid phony crystal ball away and think about posting some new cow pie nonsense.

Pain tolerance and injury hampering vary player to player or person to person. Just as healing is different for each player. Just because he can play with it doesnt mean he should though
