It’s a great news story, that certainly makes Denver fans happy, but without additional FA signings, they’re still looking up at the Chargers & Chiefs.
See I don't get where your whole 3rd best Qb is coming from Both Mahomes and Herbert are in an offense that allows them to throw 500-600 times a game and is built for them. Wilson was not.

Lets look eat a few things

This year missing 3 games and playing injured for 4 more.

    Wilson
    65% complt
    only 28 attempts a game
    25 tds
    6 ints
    4/1 td/int
    1 td per 8 attetmps
    103 passer rating
    7.8 YPA

    Herbert
    65% complt
    40 attempts per game
    38 tds
    15 ints
    2/1 td/int ratio
    97 passer rating
    7.4 ypa

So in the match up with way fewer attempts Wilson has a better complt%, better td/int, better td per attempt rate and better passer

Now how would Wilson have faired with the extra 272 attempts Herbert got

    59 tds
    10 ints
    Passer rating 118

    Now lets look at Mahomes

    66 complt%
    37 tds
    13 ints
    3/1 td/int
    1 td every 18 passes
    98 passer
    8.1 ypa

So again Wilson wins in fewer ints better td/int ratio, better att/td, better passer

Now how would Wilson have done with the extra 258 attempts

    57 tds
    11 ints
    4/1 td/int
    1 td every 11 attempts
    passer 115

Yeah sorry, he is not the 3rd best. He is arguably the best. but at worse, he is 2nd and oh by the way He beat Mahomes in their only head to head.

So now imagine in an offense built for him

sorry but all those stats don't tell the entire story. especially when you consider the fact that the chargers led the league in dropped passes and a lot of those int's were due to those dropped/tipped passes. like this one for example that I'm sure you remember......

that happened a handful of times. if Wilson was so much better and more efficient like you are claiming, why was herbert #3 just behind brady and Rodgers in QBR? why was herbert the 4th highest rated QB last year according to pff?(who absolutely crapped all over him and said he couldn't play QB in the NFL before he got drafted) Wilson they have #19

why do you think that is? if Wilson is clearly better then why isn't this a consensus opinion?

I realize saying Wilson is better is definitely arguable but to say Wilson is second best "at worst" in the division?

Von - 6 years, $120m…. Glad he got paid and happy for him but the man’s 33. Bills overpaid imo.

Bills are clearly all in for the next couple years. Good decision.

That was not a good ball from Herbert on the pick 6. Sure Ekeler could have made a great catch but Herbert through the ball to his back shoulder as he is running full speed the other way. He leads ekeler on that pass its not picked and most likely not dropped.

not the best throw but he hit him in the hands. that was not anywhere near a turnover-worthy play, nobody was anywhere near ek.

good decision to bring him in but still an overpay on a 33 year old.

Oh yes, it’s an absurd overpay, but NFL contracts are all fuzzy math.
