I just got a Samsung/Virgin mobile one with pink/lavender shimmering. Annoying, but at least it was brief.

This is all Steve's fault. As he's not here to defend himself anymore.

Now that's funny. This site has probably the worst mobile version ever!

Ugh... it's still there today. I reran Malwarebytes and AdAware and they found nothing. I completely cleared my temporary internet files, cookies and history.

I'm going to try a different browser, although I shouldn't have to be going to these extremes.

It doesn't have anything to do with you though... its just an advertisement...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure (but am double-checking) that this ad is supposed to be on our site.

Most ads are annoying, but that one does seem to get to people more than most.

My suggestion, Jav, assuming you want to stick with IE, is here:

                http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

Block 'em all!!! This will also help with inadvertently clicking on and downloading something that's a little more hostile than an ad (unless that ad really does cause epileptic seizures ).

But, check out that link. It has all the information you need and the technique comes highly recommended by me, myself & I.

I still have not seen it. Just the pink Virgin one, and just the one time.

Thanks, M-n-G! I've used the hosts file to associate malfunctioning URLs with certain IP addresses before but I had never thought of using it to BLOCK URLs... especially in the case of unwanted ads.

I hope the ad can just be removed because I don't want to avoid seeing the regular advertising that helps support the site. But that ad is annoying enough make me go the extra mile to avoid it.

I've only seen it once since you posted that, and yeah, it's annoying.

But I'm with Al, I'm guessing it's supposed to be there.

Really? I saw it about every other page I loaded. My 3-year old was even complaining about it! But I have no idea why it's just me getting that one so often.

The hosts file has done the trick. But, wow, it has knocked out a ton of ads on almost every site I visit. I'd almost prefer to have some of the ads back so those sites don't look so choppy sans advertisements.

I still see a number of Broncos-specific ads here on the site but not a single thing that must have been third party. If I knew the URL of that specific ad, I would just block it and reinstate the others just to make it all look normal again.

It does seem to slow my browsing down a tiny bit, too.

Jav? Is it the very first ad? On the top?

Tonight I am getting a white box with one of those tiny blue question mark boxes in the middle. Like we see when a picture is no longer available for whatever reason.

First ad on the top. The big one.

Although as I type this, I have a brown Xcel energy ad, and two smaller white boxes with the tiny blue ? boxes below it. Next to the Additional Options features.

                          Very strange.

                            Try blocking:
                            ad.resultsaccelerator.net
                            content.yieldmanager.edgesuite.net

I think this is the ad you were seeing
                            http://content.yieldmanager.edgesuit...xFcfw%3D%3D%2C

so you can try blocking just those two (the first one is another annoying ad I ran into)

It the top ad on the right-hand column of ads. I put a screenshot of my page in a post on page 1, I believe, in case you want to see it.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home. Did you get that by viewing the page source or some other way? Just curious...
