Air Force's defense posed problems for Wyoming.
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) -- Wyoming was unable to break through a stingy Air Force defense Saturday and fell 23-3 in the first Mountain West Conference game for both teams.
Cowboy quarterback Dax Crum finished with 72 yards passing and was sacked four times. The Cowboys accrued 216 yards of total offense.

Cowboys Roll Off 16 Unanswered to Topple Bison
Wyoming overcame a 13-0 deficit to defeat giant-killers North Dakota State.
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) -- Devin Moore sparked the Wyoming offense with 145 rushing yards and a touchdown and the Cowboys beat North Dakota State 16-13 on Jake Scott's 29-yard field goal with four seconds left Saturday.
Scott's field goal was set up by Derrick McMahen's interception of a pass by NDSU quarterback Nick Mertens, giving Wyoming (2-1) the ball on the Bison 28 yard line with 1:28 left.
All of Wyoming's points came in the second half after NDSU had scored the game's first 13 points.
In the first half against the Bison, the Cowboys were plagued by penalties, sacks, dropped passes and a fumble. They gained just three first downs and 78 total yards.
NDSU, meanwhile, gained a 10-0 halftime lead on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Mertens to Tyler Jangula and a 34-yard field goal by Shawn Bibeau.
But after the Bison ended their first possession in the second half with a 32-yard field goal by Bibeau, Moore broke off a 41-yard run and then scored from 2-yard out for Wyoming's first offensive touchdown in six quarters.
Scott finished off two other Wyoming drives with a pair of 28-yard field goals to tie the game.
Mertens led the Bison with 215 yards passing and one TD.
Wyoming was the fifth team in the Football Bowl Subdivision, formerly Division I-A, that the Bison have played since NDSU moved up from Division II to the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly I-AA. NDSU is now 3-2 against FBS schools.Comment
