Well, we got our asses handed to us, but hey, it was #14 BYU!

Cowboys Fall to No. 14 BYU on the Road
Devin Moore racks up 97 yards, but Wyoming can't get past BYU.

PROVO, Utah (AP) - Max Hall threw three touchdown passes and No. 14 BYU extended the nation's longest winning streak, beating Wyoming 44-0 Saturday.

The Cougars (4-0, 1-0 Mountain West) have won 14 straight, matching their longest winning streak of the decade.

BYU was coming off a 59-0 win over UCLA last week and forced the Cowboys (2-2, 0-2) into six turnovers, returning two of them for scores. Scott Johnson ran a fumble back 64 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter and David Nixon had a 19-yard interception return for a TD in the third.

Hall finished 16-for-27 for 189 yards with no interceptions and Austin Collie had two catches for touchdowns. Harvey Unga ran for one score and caught a pass for another for the Cougars, who are off until visiting Utah State on Oct. 3.

Hall has 15 touchdowns in four games and got to rest the entire fourth quarter for the second straight week.

BYU broke open the game with three touchdowns in the second quarter.

Hall found Collie on a deep sideline route for a 62-yard touchdown that put BYU up 20-0 with 4:03 left in the quarter, then connected with Collie again on a slant in the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown with 31 seconds left in the half. After gaining just 43 yardes in the first quarter, the Cougars had 192 in the second and scored three touchdowns, starting with a 1-yard run by Unga with 6:08 left in the period.

Wyoming drove to the BYU 36 on the opening possession, but gave the Cougars an easy score.

Dax Crum overthrew Greg Bolling in the flat, but the play didn't go forward and was a lateral instead of an incomplete pass. There was no whistle and the Cowboys didn't try to recover, leaving it free for Johnson to scoop and run 64 yards for a touchdown.

Nixon returned interception 19 yards for a touchdown with 8:25 left in the third. Brandon Bradley tipped the ball and Nixon caught it and the 19 and beat Karsten Sween, who threw the pass, to the corner of the end zone to give BYU a 41-0 lead.

      Just texted my father.

Can't really say what I said to him....

But suffice it to say, I voiced my displeasure with another University other than Wyoming.

I really hate BYU myself. I never liked them before, but having lived a mere 3 180 miles from SLC, I got to hear all about how great Utah and BYU are...

          Welp.... lost again.... whoow-boy!

          Wyoming Falls to Bowling Green
Devin Moore led the Cowboys with 114 yards rushing and one touchdown

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Tyler Sheehan passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in leading Bowling Green over Wyoming 45-16 Saturday.

Chris Bullock added two rushing touchdowns for Bowling Green, which won its first game over a Mountain West Conference team since 1989.

Bowling Green (2-2) led the game from the first quarter, when linebacker Cody Basler recovered a fumble in the end zone. Defensive lineman Michael Ream intercepted an attempted screen pass but fumbled just short of the goal line while being tackled by Wyoming running back Devin Moore.

Sheehan completed 22 passes for 287 yards. He tossed a 34-yard TD pass to Corey Partridge and a 20-yarder to Marques Parks, and scored on a 28-yard run.

Bullock scored on a pair of 6-yard runs.

Wyoming (2-3) continued to struggle offensively, especially in the passing game. The Cowboys used four quarterbacks and they were intercepted four times.

In its two other losses this season, the Cowboys committed 11 turnovers, including six interceptions.

Moore led the Cowboys with 114 yards rushing and one touchdown.

But yea...whoever called Laramie a TRAILER PARK TOWN is the biggest idiot I have ever stumbled across in my life.

Chalk another one up in the "L" column!! *shakes head*

Wyoming Falls 24-0 at New Mexico
The Cowboys fail to score a point for the second time this season.

The Wyoming Cowboy football team (2-4, 0-3) lost a Mountain West Conference match-up with the New Mexico Lobos 24-0 on Saturday night in Albuquerque.

The Lobos (3-3, 1-1) returned a tipped pass for a touchdown on the very first play of the game, racked up 317 yards rushing and rolled to an easy victory.

Rain hampered play on and off during the night, limiting both teams to a combined 104 passing yards (Wyoming 71, New Mexico 33).

Seniors Devin Moore and Wynel Seldon both ran the ball hard for the 'Pokes, but could never break free as the Lobo defense keyed on UW's running game. Moore rushed for 74 yards, while Seldon ran for 46.

Cowboy junior Jesson Salyards was the lone highlight in Wyoming's passing game, as he caught four passes for 47 yards.

Yeah...he told me yesterday he has more punts than any D-1 punter. He was like..."yea, not a stat to be proud of" But he has been one of the few high lights of the season.

And another ass kicking laid on us by a team from Utah.....

Wyoming Falls to No. 14 Utah
The Cowboys still seeking first MWC win.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) -- Matt Asiata ran for a touchdown and caught another, Utah's special teams scored two touchdowns and its defense stifled Wyoming in a 40-7 victory Saturday.

No. 14 Utah (7-0, 3-0 Mountain West) remained undefeated, having no problem clearing this hurdle after needing a last-second field goal to beat Oregon State last week.

Brian Johnson was 10-for-19 for 110 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions for Utah, and Asiata added 37 yards on 11 carries. Sean Smith intercepted two passes, returning one for touchdown.

Devin Moore led Wyoming (2-5, 0-4) with 109 yards on 23 carries.

Playing in a stiff and frigid wind, Wyoming's offensive woes continued as the Cowboys turned the ball over five times, gained 252 total yards and converting 2-for-13 on third down. The Cowboys' only score came midway through the fourth quarter when third-string quarterback Chris Stutzreim found receiver Greg Bolling in the endzone with a lofting 18-yard pass.

Utah built a 33-0 lead early in the third quarter when Johnson, rolling to the right, found Asiata for a 13-yard touchdown pass.

The Utes added their final touchdown late in the fourth quarter when Wyoming's Taushaun Gipson brushed, but failed to catch, a punt by Utah and the ball rolled into the Wyoming end zone, where R.J. Rice fell on it to put Utah up 40-7.

Wyoming's best field position of the game came off a muffed Utah punt midway through the third quarter. But the Utah defense held Wyoming for three downs, and Sween's fourth down pass attempt was intercepted by Smith in the end zone and returned to the Utah 31.

Utah led 27-0 at halftime, fueled by defense and special teams. Wyoming threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, leading to three Utah scores.

Wyoming safety Chris Prosinski tackles Utah quarterback Brian Johnson during Saturday's game.

Cowboy wide receiver Greg Bolling hauls in a fourth quarter touchdown pass against the Utes.

Seeing what TCU just did to BYU, I think we can really look forward to another ass kicking... On an up note, my brother-in-law is the strength coach intern at TCU and I did get to see him on TV on the sidelines during the TCU blowout of BYU!!

Wyoming Travels to TCU to Play No. 14 Ranked Horned Frogs
The Cowboys will be playing a nationally-ranked team for the third time this season when they face TCU.

The Wyoming Cowboys (2-5 overall and 0-4 in the Mountain West Conference) will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, this Saturday to play the TCU Horned Frogs (7-1 overall and 4-0 in the MWC). The game is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m., Mountain Time from TCU's Amon G. Carter Stadium. Wyoming will be facing the third nationally-ranked team on its schedule this season when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to play the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday, Oct. 25.

TCU was ranked No. 14 in this week's first Bowl Championship Series (BCS) rankings of the year. The Horned Frogs were also ranked No. 15 in all three major polls this week - the Associated Press Media Poll, the USA Today Coaches' Poll and the Harris Interactive Poll.

Wyoming will be playing its third nationally-ranked team this season when they face TCU. UW has already played BYU and Utah this season when they were nationally ranked.

Of all its Mountain West Conference opponents, TCU is the one the Wyoming Cowboys have the shortest series with, having played only four previous times. Wyoming and TCU will be playing for the fifth time when they meet on Saturday. The series is even at two wins apiece for each team. Each team is 1-1 at home and 1-1 on the road.

Two of the top defenses in the country will take the field this Saturday when the Cowboys and Horned Frogs face each other.

TCU leads the nation in three categories -- total defense, rushing defense and quarterback sacks. Wyoming is the No. 1 ranked pass defense in the Mountain West Conference and ranks No. 12 in the nation. The Pokes also rank No. 1 in the MWC and No. 6 in the country in lowest opponent third-down conversions, and rank No. 36 in the nation in total defense.

Wyoming had a bye week -- last week. In the modern era of Wyoming Football, since World War II, the Pokes have had 39 bye weeks during the regular season. Wyoming has won 25 of its 39 games played following a bye.

The last time Wyoming had a bye week was the fifth week of the 2007 season. The following week, UW hosted TCU and captured a 24-21 home win over the Horned Frogs.

That last meeting between Wyoming and TCU was Oct. 6, 2007, in Laramie. UW built a 21-6 lead through three quarters.

The Pokes put together four long scoring drives on the day. UW scored on drives of 80 yards, 53 yards, 65 yards and 93 yards.

TCU began its first possession after picking off a Karsten Sween pass on UW's first drive of the game. But the Cowboy defense held TCU to a three-and-out series forcing the Horned Frogs into a 51-yard field goal by Chris Manfredini, which was good. That was the only lead the Horned Frogs would hold all day.

Sween bounced back on the very next series to hit wide receiver Hoost Marsh on a 65-yard touchdown pass on the second play of the drive to put Wyoming up 7-3. Wyoming would never relinquish the lead.

Sween completed 12 of 26 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Running backs Devin Moore and Wynel Seldon each ran for 100 yards on the day, marking the first time since 1995 that two Cowboys had rushed for 100 yards in the same game. Moore ended with 135 rushing yards vs. TCU. Seldon ran for an even 100.

Marsh ended the day with a career best 87 receiving yards on four catches, including two TD receptions.

The Wyoming defense forced TCU into three turnovers -- two fumbles and an interception -- while recording nine tackles for losses, three sacks and 10 pass breakups. Defensive end Mitch Unrein forced two TCU fumbles and Michael Medina intercepted a pass.

Wyoming's last score of the day came on a 23-yard field goal by Billy Vinnedge, to put the Pokes up 24-6. That field goal capped a 13-play, 93-yard drive by Wyoming.

TCU scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull within three points at 24-21. On the last possession of the game, the Horned Frogs drove the ball down to the Wyoming 31-yard line, but a 48-yard field goal attempt hit the right upright on the final play of the game. Through the years, the Wyoming Cowboys have been very successful in games played immediately following a bye week.

This Saturday's game will be televised live on The Mtn. The Cowboys Sports Network radio broadcast will begin at 3 p.m., Mountain Time, with the pregame show.

TCU was one of the games we made it to when I was in Casper.

I was pissed when I heard they were joining the Mountain West... couldn't take it elsewhere?
