Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Cowboy Football 2008....Oklahoma State Cowboys, that is!
Yeah I was talking in the last 8-9 years. In 2002, we beat you twice, In 2003 beat you in boulder (finally) and then destroyed you in the 2004 title game. Also, we beat you in 2006, leaving the record 5 OU wins to 1 buffalo last second victory for the last eight years. I DO HAVE MY **** STRAIGHT, SON.
I said regular season record ******bag. Read the post before you respond don't skim. So you don't have your **** straight, SON! Wow. I feel cool. All caps on that line. It's gettin all gangsta up in this heezy.
I dont think ANY buffs fan should talk about questionable recruiting, especially with the Barnett scandals and giving that running back's mom a job at a bank this year.
I find it comical that you would even mention anything in this area.
We didn't have our defensive lineman shooting uzi's out of the dorm rooms and our starting QB selling coke on campus. All of the players involved with the scandals were expelled and GB was eventually fired. OU didn't even suspend any of their kids for a game. And show me the proof on Darrell's mother getting a job at any bank in Colorado. I promise if you back up your post i'll apologize and back down. But i know it's BS so you won't. Switzer ran a renegade program, and got out of dodge before the sanctions came down on you. Yet you still treat Barry like a friggin legend. At least we fired GB. So don't try to compare CU's mishaps to OU's. OU's infraction are on a higher level than any other program in college football since SMU. And we all know what happened to SMU.

give me a break, you still believe that when every reputable source (including mack brown) has stated that is a ridiculous claim?
Since when did hawkins become hiring manager for a bank anyway?
Wow, we are diggin deep with the Uzi's and Charles Thompson!!! Maybe I should bring up that 83-3 scoreboard from the early 80's we laid on you. Nearly charged with murder after that game.
Anyways man, this is what I love about this thread. The heated topics during the dead area for football. Wow, this started as an Okie-State thread and look where it went.
I am so so stoked for the season to start. Even ordered my custom helmet case today for my helmet I got with half the team's autographs.

and I haven't been to stillwater in at least 6 years, but my sister and brother in law lived north of campus and I remember walking on a dirt road back to her place, which was less than half a mile away. I'm glad you guys finally discovered pavement.

okay just made a bet with an Okie fan here in the office that CU takes them down. The loser buys lunch. That means that I am not financially and emotionally invested into the game.

So what is Gundy going to do. Suspend him for the first game. At CU this kid would be done for the season.
And I think I am going to hustle the OSU fan a bit and go for the free steak when CU wins
STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State tight end Brandon Pettigrew pleaded guilty on Monday to a reduced charge for allegedly attacking a police officer in January.
Payne County prosecutors originally charged Pettigrew with felony assault and battery on a police officer, but they reached a plea agreement with Pettigrew in which he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery.
He must pay a $200 fine and make a $200 contribution to the victims' compensation fund, as well as perform 20 hours of community service, which he has already completed at the YMCA, defense attorney William Baker said in court.
Pettigrew, from Tyler, Texas, also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor public intoxication in the incident and was fined $100.
He received a deferred sentence and won't have a criminal record if he successfully completes probation. Coach Mike Gundy declined to suspend Pettigrew, saying in February that he would allow the case to run its course.
Pettigrew caught 35 passes for 540 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Ok...he did not *attack* the police officer. The cop tried to grab him, and Pettigrew turned around, accidentally bumping his elbow into the cop's chest, certainly not hard enough to call it an attack. However, Stillwater PD is extremely notorious for over-exaggerating things. The cops here are <insert synonym for male genitalia>...one reason I can't wait to leave this town.
Yes, I am bitter. I got pulled over once because my headlight was out. It was an older cop, and he just told me to get it fixed soon because the younger guys (the male genitalia referred to above) won't be so nice. (I believed that wholeheartedly). Next day, I go to Autozone and ask for a headlamp. They don't have any in stock, and would order one for me. It would arrive at the store on Tuesday (I ordered it on Thursday). From Thursday until Tuesday, I got pulled over EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Yes, even during broad daylight. I explained to them EVERY TIME that I had to special-order the lamp. If you do the math, that's 5 times I got pulled over. Out of that, I got 3 tickets. 2 of them were from Stillwater PD, the other one was OSU PD. I had to visit 2 different court clerks. Fortunately, both of them don't like OSU or Stillwater PD's any more than the rest of us, and I didn't have to pay for a single ticket.
I've also been pulled over for speeding in a school zone, even though the School Zone lights weren't flashing (the speed limit is 20 when the lights are flashing, 40 when they're not). I was going 35, and the lights weren't flashing. I got pulled over anyway. I couldn't talk my way out of that ticket. $300.
Back to the current topic, though. He didn't actually plead guilty to the crime. It's called a plea bargain. He just plead guilty to a lesser charge (it was lowered because the cop admitted he *might* have over-exaggerated...) to put it all behind him. He already did the community service, and probation for a year is not a big deal if you're not really guilty of anything. Why won't Gundy do anything about this? Because he did nothing wrong (outside of going to party, but come on...you're in college, you're gonna party at some point).
