I know what the situation is...coaches are scared away because they don't want to be "owned" by Boone. He wouldn't own them...seriously, all he did was donate $165 million towards athletics. He's said himself that he didn't want to have any say in what happens, that he just wanted to see OSU succeed in athletics.
While it is true that he was willing to help pull Bill Self away from KU, that's the only instance of that happening, and that was because AD Mike Holder asked him to help pony up the money for the lucrative contract he was going to offer him. That's not Boone trying to own the athletic department.

Hahahaha, you think you're gonna beat OU???? You Stoolwater fans think that every year. I bet it burns your ass to see Les Miles hoist up that crystal ball, doesn't it?
Anyways, I think OSU could have about an 8 win season if their defense decides to take the field this year.
I think our defense makes a strong showing this time and we finally manage to pull one out.
These must be You think Missourri will be a toss-up??? they will probably hang 80 on your pathetic defense. Plus I think Colorado is going to crush you as well, you may have a chance in OSU, but not in Boulder, your defense will be toast by the 3rd quarter. And don't even let me mention your OU prediction.
this is how I see it:
Sat., Aug. 30 ...... at Washington State W
Sat., Sept. 6 ...... Houston L
Sat., Sept. 13 .... Missouri State W
Sat., Sept. 27 .... Troy W
Sat., Oct. 4 .... Texas A&M W
Sat., Oct. 11 ....... at Missouri L
Sat., Oct. 18 ..... Baylor W
Sat., Oct. 25 ..... at Texas L
Sat., Nov. 1 ...... Iowa State W
Sat., Nov. 8 .... at Texas Tech L
Sat., Nov. 15 .... at Colorado L
Sat., Nov. 29 ..... Oklahoma L
Final 6-6 (maybe 7-5 if you can squeak by Houston)
nice offseason schedule there. Was devry not available. How about ITT tech.
And it's not impossible to win at Mizzou and at Colorado. We've done it. We beat a decent Buffs team in Boulder 42-14 last time we played up there, and we came from behind to win 20-17 against the Tigers a couple weeks later. So as long as our defense shows up, it's not impossible. When I say toss-up, I just mean the game *could* go either way, with neither team dominating the other. Honestly, I think both CU and MU are tossups, and we will likely split the series. The North is only just now starting to become good again.
And you have Houston...the same Houston that just lost their coach to Baylor...new coach, new system...you have them beating us? In Stillwater? Sorry, just don't see it happening.
Yeah we all love Z-Rob around here. Great kid. Excellent player. That year that we played A&M at home and Z-Rob had to come in, he played them tough and we only lost because of our kicker. And he did it whilst having the flu. The QB controversy started quietly at that point. There were whispers that maybe we have a hidden gem in Z-Rob....those whispers turned into room-volume chat with last year's FAU game, faded back to whispers at the Troy game, then turned into screams at the Texas Tech game.Last edited by osubroncos86; 06-05-2008, 03:02 PM.Leave a comment:

Ya Z-Rob!!!! He went to my high school and every girl was in love with him. However I hope he gets completely clobbered by CU in Boulder, it should be fun.Leave a comment:

I don't blame Miles for leaving OSU. There are alot of coaches who don't want to coach under Boone Pickens.Leave a comment:

Cowboy Football 2008....Oklahoma State Cowboys, that is!
Everybody should know of Oklahoma State by now. But for those that only know about OSU through Mike Gundy's now-famous rant, "I'M A MAN, I'M 40!", I offer you a look into the real Oklahoma State.
Our offense is led by junior QB Zac Robinson. This was the subject of the rant...Bobby Reid was a whiny crybaby when Zac Robinson took over the job by playing very well. He's extremely fast, a good thrower, and just has a good head for the game. He was much more consistent than Reid was...Robinson was consistently GOOD! At RB, we have several options: Beau Johnson, who is a JuCo transfer, sophomore Kendall Hunter (who ran very well as a freshman), and junior Keith Toston. At wideout, we have sophomore Dez Bryant (who was phenomenal as a freshman), Artrell Woods, and Will Cole. Perhaps better than all those wideouts (except Bryant, arguably), is our TE, Brandon Pettigrew (we call him Superman around campus).
Our defense, which has been pitiful in recent years, looks to really improve this season. We've added several JuCo players that look to contribute right away. Andre Sexton will serve as our hybrid Safety/Linebacker, which was Donovan Woods' job last year. This allows him to make more tackles, which is good, considering that as a Safety, he was already our leading tackler. At CB, we have Perrish Cox and Jacob Lacey. We're completely loaded at Safety, with a wealth of players that have starting talent. Our projected starter at FS is Rickey Price, and at SS we'll likely see Quinton Moore fill the starting role.
On Special Teams, we lose our kicker Jason Ricks. However, our coaching staff managed to sign the #1 Kicker prospect in the country, Quinn Sharp. We still have Matt Fodge as our punter (he was the #1 rated punter in the nation a couple years ago...the year after Daniel Sepulveda left Baylor).
Our schedule is as follows, with my prediction on whether we'll win or lose that game:
Sat., Aug. 30 ...... at Washington State (in Seattle's Qwest Field) (OSU wins)
Sat., Sept. 6 ...... Houston (OSU wins)
Sat., Sept. 13 .... Missouri State (OSU wins handily)
Sat., Sept. 27 .... Troy (OSU wins)
Sat., Oct. 4 .... Texas A&M (OSU wins a really close game)
Sat., Oct. 11 ....... at Missouri (Toss-up, this will probably be an OSU loss)
Sat., Oct. 18 ..... Baylor (OSU wins handily)
Sat., Oct. 25 ..... at Texas (People are predicting that OSU will win this year, but they've done that several years in a row now...we lose in Austin)
Sat., Nov. 1 ...... Iowa State (OSU wins)
Sat., Nov. 8 .... at Texas Tech (OSU loses this one...we haven't won in Lubbock since the 40's)
Sat., Nov. 15 .... at Colorado (Toss-up, I think we win a close one)
Sat., Nov. 29 ..... Oklahoma (We finally beat OU in Stillwater this year!!)Tags: None
