Everybody should know of Oklahoma State by now. But for those that only know about OSU through Mike Gundy's now-famous rant, "I'M A MAN, I'M 40!", I offer you a look into the real Oklahoma State.
Our offense is led by junior QB Zac Robinson. This was the subject of the rant...Bobby Reid was a whiny crybaby when Zac Robinson took over the job by playing very well. He's extremely fast, a good thrower, and just has a good head for the game. He was much more consistent than Reid was...Robinson was consistently GOOD! At RB, we have several options: Beau Johnson, who is a JuCo transfer, sophomore Kendall Hunter (who ran very well as a freshman), and junior Keith Toston. At wideout, we have sophomore Dez Bryant (who was phenomenal as a freshman), Artrell Woods, and Will Cole. Perhaps better than all those wideouts (except Bryant, arguably), is our TE, Brandon Pettigrew (we call him Superman around campus).
Our defense, which has been pitiful in recent years, looks to really improve this season. We've added several JuCo players that look to contribute right away. Andre Sexton will serve as our hybrid Safety/Linebacker, which was Donovan Woods' job last year. This allows him to make more tackles, which is good, considering that as a Safety, he was already our leading tackler. At CB, we have Perrish Cox and Jacob Lacey. We're completely loaded at Safety, with a wealth of players that have starting talent. Our projected starter at FS is Rickey Price, and at SS we'll likely see Quinton Moore fill the starting role.
On Special Teams, we lose our kicker Jason Ricks. However, our coaching staff managed to sign the #1 Kicker prospect in the country, Quinn Sharp. We still have Matt Fodge as our punter (he was the #1 rated punter in the nation a couple years ago...the year after Daniel Sepulveda left Baylor).
Our schedule is as follows, with my prediction on whether we'll win or lose that game:
Sat., Aug. 30 ...... at Washington State (in Seattle's Qwest Field) (OSU wins)
Sat., Sept. 6 ...... Houston (OSU wins)
Sat., Sept. 13 .... Missouri State (OSU wins handily)
Sat., Sept. 27 .... Troy (OSU wins)
Sat., Oct. 4 .... Texas A&M (OSU wins a really close game)
Sat., Oct. 11 ....... at Missouri (Toss-up, this will probably be an OSU loss)
Sat., Oct. 18 ..... Baylor (OSU wins handily)
Sat., Oct. 25 ..... at Texas (People are predicting that OSU will win this year, but they've done that several years in a row now...we lose in Austin)
Sat., Nov. 1 ...... Iowa State (OSU wins)
Sat., Nov. 8 .... at Texas Tech (OSU loses this one...we haven't won in Lubbock since the 40's)
Sat., Nov. 15 .... at Colorado (Toss-up, I think we win a close one)
Sat., Nov. 29 ..... Oklahoma (We finally beat OU in Stillwater this year!!)
