Just wanted to say I can't wait for Notre Dame's season opener tomorrow against San Diego State.

Notre Dame should field a vastly improved team this year .... I'm sure all eyes will be watching to see if one of the perennial powerhouse programs can bounce back to a respectful level of play and it's former glory....

This year I doubt. Next year is when we should shine and show all the haters wrong.

But yeah that was a pretty respectful post from an OSU fan unlike others who would totally trash this thread.

Thats cool... It's because I love the game of College Football ..I understand well Notre Dame's history and standing in it and the players that they have produce for NFL...It speaks 100x times louder then someone's negative opinion ...Last year I was pretty harsh on the Fighting Irish .... But mainly because of just getting involved into talking college ball on the web..

Fans can bash teams like Notre Dame,Alabama,Ohio State & Michigan

They have also got to understand the war between Woody and Bo is a good part of why college football is what it is today..Just because alot of fans was not born in that era and have opinions of todays teams...Does not mean that history did not happen and others where not around to record it in their memories and record books.

Heres to Notre Dame having a good season even though it mite not live up to the standards set by the school ... Extremely High

I'm very interested to see how they play the Big 10 this year and still being respectful... Dont think for a second... That I dont want the Big 10 to put the smack down on the Irish while they have the chance

That game showed how classless some of those Stanford players are.... I know their coach is implementing a tougher Stanford team and all but that was just crossing the line with everything they did. Bleh not like our players didn't do the same either.

It's really depressing seeing the Notre Dames defense though because of how bad it is! It's almost as bad as watching the Broncos defense.

Hell of a lot of them were competitive I'm not going to sit here and name them all for you though. Of course that Bush push game is one that a lot of people will remember but that doesn't mean that was the only game that was close.

Dawg your talking sacred stuff to a Trojan or Fighting Irish fan. USC has won the last six . With Notre Dame having a long win streak from 83 to 95 with 1994 a tie. Five of the USC vs ND games are in the top ten of most watched college football games in history. The trophy the winner takes home is called the Jeweled Shillelagh. (which I didn't know) . Anyway Fighting Irishman be good to have the Irish back up . Too great of a program to leave floundering like that.

Our defense is not physical at all which is what I hate. I see them attempting to go for the strips and all but everyone is so soft. That number 7 absolutely destroyed us today but honestly I have hope that next year we will be better on defense.

The offense is so close to becoming elite only thing they need is time. Seriously 90% of the playmakers on our offense are rookies and sophomores hell even though the defense played poorly they have play makers that are young too.

Micheal Floyd - Freshman (This kid is special most definitely going to turn out to be a first round WR in his future if he keeps this up)

Kyle Rudolph - Freshman (This kid is special too and could end up being the best TE to ever play in ND another first round looker)

Brian Smith - Sophomore

Golden Tate - Sophomore (Eddie Royal clone)

Amazing how all these young guys stepped up.
