BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WORLD WAR II
    US Ranked 4th

After determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS
computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS
declared Germany to be the winner of World War II.

"Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with
the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into
conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden,
Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against
the US and Russia; however considering their entire body of work--
including an incredibly tough Strength of Schedule--our computers
deemed them worthy of the #1 ranking."

Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS
commissioner stated "The US only had two major victories--Japan and
Germany. The computer models, unlike humans, aren't influenced by head-
to-head contests--they consider each contest to be only a single,
    equally-weighted event."

German Chancellor Adolph Hiter said "Yes, we lost to the US; but we
defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been
criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn 'style points' to
enhance Germany's rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland
was in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were
incredibly challenging and demanded the application of additional
    forces."

The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented "
France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1
ranking they only fell to #2."
Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the
    Philippines.

Heh, I've seen that used in the past but it's still pretty funny... and appropriate. It really doesn't make sense to me that Texas beat Oklahama on a neutral field and by double-digits and yet Oklahoma is ranked ahead of them with the same record.

I'm a huge supporter of a playoff system. Even if you just have the top 4 teams play you'd solve almost all of the National Championship injustices. The idea is to get it right without controversy (other than what happens ON the field, of course).

I agree that Texas is getting a raw deal. They lost on a last second play in an away game. I just don't see how Oklahoma gets ahead of them. I think it is kind of cowardly for the conference to let the BCS determine the winner of a division within their conference. I just don't see how Texas loses the division to OU with the head to head win on a neutral field. I watched the last part of that game, and their was no question who was the better team that day.

As far as a playoff goes it would be a great idea, I just don't see how they make it work and maintain the integrity of the regular season. Since the players are student athletes they would have to shorten the regular season. I can see how they could do an "and 1 game with the current system, but that makes several of the BCS games obsolete because two of them would then become the semifinal games. 8 teams would work well, but either way you are going to have some mid major teams like Boise State that are getting a raw deal.

And Poland....I dunno man... these teams aren't really that powerhouse. I'd say Germany's only big victories were screwing Russia over, backstabbing Italy, and doing a good deal of damage to Britain.

It is pretty funny, just got this Email too, and it's very true! Isn't Texas Tech the France here, with no defense whatsoever?

Big 12 HAS to change this farce, and sooner or later, it will probably be later, there will be a playoff! There has been literally a 100 different playoff scenarios brought up, and it could happen. HELL!!! College Basketball and baseball players have approx. 40-60 games, and you dont hear anyone *****in about THAT do you?
