  • So!

I don't know how to do those stupid polls, but I need to ask anyway. How bad does everyone think Tebow and Florida are going to kick OU's asses this time? You know, BCS Bobby Stuups, Mr. Visor Spurrier Jr., choke in the Bowls every year. Can't stand Florida either, but I believe their defense is for REAL, not this stand around and watch OU's recievers catch the ball 5-10 yards away every down like Mizzou and the rest of the Big 12 seemed to do this year.

Actually , I truly believe Alabama would have beaten OU too if they would have beaten Florida.

Agree? Disagree? Someone post one of those damn polls would ya?

Won't surprise me if Florida wins, I think Oklahoma has an offense on par with them. Not a dual threat at quarterback, but a deep backfield, and some damn good receivers, not to mention the best TE in the nation.

Will it be another bowl game let down for medium game Bob and the Spooners? I'd like to think so! I do like Florida to win the game though. Alabama was able to gash the Gators D up the middle with a power running game, but I don't think Oklahoma can duplicate that. Yes, they do have a big and excellent O-line like Alabama has, but no real power back ala Glenn Coffee. They run the spread as opposed to the pro style Alabama runs. The Gators D is built on speed and they pursue well sideline to sideline, they are vulnerable up the middle, but I just don't think Oklahoma will be able to take advantage of that as well as Alabama did. That said, their offense is explosive much in the same ways as Florida's is, so it will likely be a high-scoring affair. The Gators key is to get pressure on Bradford, and they have the guys to do it in Dunlap, Cunningham, and Spikes.

      Gators - 41
      Spooners - 31

Oh OU's offense is no question the best in the Nation, and one of the best of all time. Hat I want to see though is waht they will do against a GOOD defense, someone who can get some pressure on Bradford, he just seems to have FOREVER to pick out a reciever. and anyone can score score on OU's defense, what you DO NOT want to do is get into one of those up and down basketball games like everyone in the Big 12 did, and every one failed except Texas.

I see Florida's offense as superior because of how many looks they give you. I think out of their base formation they have something like 4 different variations, and that's just their base.

Harder to game plan for Florida's offense, the defenses in the Big XII aren't all that great outside OU and Texas. Will be interesting to see how this game turns out, OU has an excellent offensive line.

Alright i'm going to do my best to be honest, but it is going to sound completely biased.

Florida and Oklahoma have pretty evenly matched offenses. It's going to come down to defense in the game. Florida's defense is much stronger than anything the Oklahoma has seen this year, hands down. They've been overshadowed all season by the spectacular offense, and only lately have been getting the recognition that they deserve. Like someone said earlier, they aren't going to just sit around and let Oklahoma move the ball at will. On the other hand Oklahoma does have a good defense, with a few playmakers. Florida has seen a lot of strong defenses, especially Alabama. I think the experience of playing so many good teams with different looks is going to give the Florida offense the upper hand. Oh, and Percy is going to be back!

Anybody heard how serious the OU runningback's injury is?

I think the key is Oklahoma getting pressure on Tebow. Something Alabama failed to do. Tebow was only sacked sixteen times all year. But three of those came in the gator's only loss to that powerhouse ol' Miss team. Oklahoma is a whole different cat than Alabama. I think the Sooners give Stoops his first number one.

He will be back in time for the Bowl game. What I would worry about if I was a Sooner is their QB is in surgery for his left hand today, and will be kicked back for a couple of weeks, so he will have some rust to knock off when he gets back. That's what has bit OU in the butt so many times before is .
has never been able to keep them focused.

Well he won it his second year in 2000, but I agree that whatever defense comes to play will determine it, cause we already know both Offenses can light it up!!!!

Great, another Bob Stoops blunder in a bowl game, and for the 3rd year in a row we get to watch an SEC trounce someone basically at home in the NC game.

                    Great.

I can't tell if you are referring to the fact that SEC fans travel well, or if you are saying all the nat'l championship games have been in the southeast. First part is true, second part...well not so much. Arizona, the heart of the SEC!

Sorry, it was two years out of 3, but what I meant was, more often than not a team will play for the BCS championship game basically at home:

2001 OU and FSU in Miami (although OU won)
2003 LSU and OU at LSU
2004 USC and OU at USC
2005 Texas and USC at USC
2007 Ohio state and LSU at LSU
2008 Florida and OU in Miami

THATS what I meant. I love it when Gator fans get all hoppity.

with all due respect, Bob Stoops has been blown out in only 2 Bowl Games, and he lost a pair of close one's by a combined 8 points. but he hasn't lost 4 Bowl Games in a row, he won the Holiday Bowl against Oregon in 2005. So it's not like they have some super hex jinx against them, just random bad luck, which I believe they will be up for the task against Florida. No way is Bob Stoops coming unprepared this time. He will have these guys focused, and ready to play! Anyone who thinks this Oklahoma team can't play defense against a fast team better go back and watch the Texas Tech vs Oklahoma game again.

                            UT Bowl record since 2003

What is Whoops' bowl record 4-6? And everytime they lose I get to hear an OU fan say "fluke win" this and "trap game" that. I'm sick of it.

I think to many of ya on here like to post about the teams and what you think will do,have done and have not done in the past...

As to say hey look at me !!...Using mostly opinions to try to prove whatever the point may be...

Florida wins against Oklahoma by 50 points..... Oklahoma is still one of the best teams in the country and vice versa.....Saying who you think will win by whatever margin does not mean you know anymore then the next guy that will quote your post....

We can go back and forth saying this team is better,Look at what this team has done compared to this team although more often then not only looking at a small window of time of a sport that was going on way before we was born and Both teams in question usually need not prove anything.....They are some the best and the reason why watch and love college football.....

I always look for new members to stick around and continually participate over a certain length of time. The ones on here that have done just that...Even though I dont always agree with them I most certainly value their opinion more.....

                              Hey thats just my :2cents:
