    Good call I was thinking about this and was going to post atleast my early thoughts on the game in the gameday thread...

    Other hot thread topic could be Heisman....

    I want the balance of power to be even with the media favoring the SEC...4 years 2 wins a peice....

    At the start of the season there was a thread which conference is better...Big 12 vs SEC ....

    I thought to myself instantly SEC but as the season ended last year and pretty much all of this season for this year I think the Big 12 was the toughest conference....I think Oklahoma will play much better in this game then have seen them in the last 4 years.....They will have to....With both teams...

    The winner must play unbelievably sound and be able to maintain along the LOS against a true top 5 type team...Great Oline,Great Defense,Speed I think both teams have plenty of it....I give the edge on offense to Oklahoma,Defense edge to Florida....I think Oklahoma has played teams almost as good as Florida...I think Florida has played top notch teams but not a team as good as Oklahoma yet....

    The area that Oklahoma can not lose in is special teams..With that you dont want to see Florida if spt is a concern......I think that 1 mistake gave Texas all they needed to climb out of a 14-3 score and on to win the game....I also believe its a misnomer that the Big 12 cant play defense...No I dont think they can play defense like the SEC but Oklahoma and Texas can play with anybody...I think the style of play is just different and a handful of Big 12 teams can really move the ball and put some points on the board and also conference play is so much different..

    I think we have the makings of a really good game with the best this season has to offer....I would not be surprised to see either team win by a large number as well....Got a few weeks to go and lots to post about as well...I have no real favorite here no side to choice and will just take the game for what it is and hopefully a good one at that....Although as posted up top I'm not ready for the SEC 3 year run..Knowing that could very well happen...

      Well, guess no one paid attention, but once again, Florida-38 , OU -24. Big bad Bobby can't when the big one AGAIN! Lack of defense is a *****, and I have watched EVERY play of EVERY game for OU, and everyone racked up quite a few points and yards against them, and it is NO SECRET AT ALL, that the Big 12 as a whole is pretty clueless when it comes to defense, and in paticular PASS DEFENSE, that is why there were something like 6 or 7 QBs completing 70 % of their passes!!!!! TELL ME AGAIN THERE IS DEFENSE IN THE BIG 12!!!

      I believe, the #1 key to beat OU is hammer Bradford! No one hardly laid a finger on him all year!! His uniform never gets dirty most games! You just know the Florida coaches are cooking up some interesting blitzes for them. And when he does have time , THEY WILL HAVE TO HOLD THERE COVERAGE in the secondary. When OU is really clicking, all Sam has to do is wait, sometimes 7 SECONDS OR MORE, and eventually someone always breaks free from their man, and he is deadly accurate, and he will burn them.

      As far as their defense goes, run RIGHT AT THEM! They are too fast side to side, but they have given up big running plays at times up the gut. Their secondary is the WEAK LINK of the defense, and can be beaten deep by an accuarte QB who is given enough time.

      Now for special teams , they have excellent return men, but their Kickoff coverage is one of the worst in the country , and have given up 4-5 TDs off K.O.s. Their FG kicker is barely 50%, and will choke under pressure, so they better hope it does not come down to a last second long FG, or they are doomed.

      Now for the Coaching, I don't know what it is, and it has been the subject of HUNDREDS of acrticles, exposes, and hours of talk show fodder, but Bob Stoops teams for the last couple of years have lost their intensity between the Big 12 Championship game, and that 1st week of January. He has denied it COUNTLESS times, but from quotes that we have read from players over the years, it seems that the players are too cocky, overconfident, or something happens that the way they played in Sep. through December does not transcribe into January. Something tells me this year Bob is gonna be having some intense scrimmages in the next couple of weeks.

      One thing I know Florida does NOT want to do, and that is to get into one of those Basketball like, up and down, trading touchdown type of games. OU loves it when you do that, they will just keep matching you TD for TD, then wait for you to turn the ball over, or go 3 and out, then the next time you look up at the scoreboard and you are down 21 points!!!!

      With that said.

      Offense=OU

      Defense=Florida

      Special Teams=Florida

      Coaches= Push

        I kinda agree with Bronco Axe in a few senses, but disagree in a few others.

        Florida Running Game: Florida's key to the running game will be to use Percy Harvin in practically every versatile way they can. End arounds, reverses, flea flicker, anything at they can do to confuse the OU defense. If Percy Harvin isn't able to break to the outside against OU's fast sideline to sideline defense, then it may force Florida to become 1 dimensional and rely on their passing game. Advantage: Florida

        Florida Passing Game: While no single player stands out as a big time, big play making WR, with dominant stats, the Gators Receiving Corp is more than reliable, and more often than not coming up with big plays in cluth moments. Tim Tebow will have to be deadly accurate, and with OU's complex blitz schemes, he either won't have much time to throw, or he'll be forced to run. Tim Tebow will no doubt use the option to slow down and pick apart Oklahoma's blitzing defense. Look for Tebow to use the Wildcat formation to take advantage of OU's complex defensive looks and catch the defense napping. Advantage: Oklahoma

        Florida's Special Teams: This is the most dangerous aspect of Florida's entire team. This is also Urban Meyers little precious diamond. This is how you make an Urban Meyer football team, by performing big on special team. This is the unit that can make a game in a flash. If OU can't cover the Gators special teams, and allows the Gators to consistently start drives with excellent field position, this will be a very long night for the Oklahoma Sooners and Bob Stoops. Advantage: Florida

        Florida's Defense: No doubt Urban Meyers emphasis to his defense the next month in practice will be stop the run up the middle. The Gators are fast to the outside, but the inside is soft and suspect, as Alabama exposed the weakness during the SEC Championship Game. The Gators speed to the outside is simply too much for the Sooners to try sweep or toss right/left plays, in hoping for big yardage gains. Additionally with the speed of the Oklahoma Receivers, the Secondary will have its hands full for all 60 minutes, as Bradford seems to usually have all day to throw. Getting penetration past that Giant Oklahoma O-Line will be a priority for the Gators if they hope to get Sam Bradford out of rhythm, and force him to make bad throws. Advantage: Oklahoma

        Oklahoma's Running Game: The key to this game for OU depends on the running game and time of possession. With DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown leading the Sooners with well over 1,000 yards and Mossis Madu's big playmaking ability, Stoops must maintain a perfect balance of run and pass to not only keep the Gators Defense on the field, but to wear out and confuse the Defense, and put the pressure on the Gators offense to win the game. The Sooners run game should be successful with a healthy mix of counters and draw plays. Advantage: Oklahoma

        Oklahoma's Passing Game: No doubt is the bread and butter of this Sooners team and their big time scoring ability. OU's O-Line provides Sam Bradford ample protection and more than enough time to find open receivers or to flip it off to a running back. Joaquin Iglesias should have a big day against the Gators secondary, and the Gators will have fits trying to play him in man coverage, and will most likely use double coverage with a DB and a Safety to force Bradford to go to his other receivers, however, Bradford's extremely reliable TE Gresham should have productive numbers to counter the double team on Iglesias. Advantage: Oklahoma

        Oklahoma's Special Teams: If the special teams can't keep the Gators from starting inside the 40, things could get very ugly, as good starting position will no doubt boost the Gators confidence, as well as give them momentum which could effect the pysche of the Sooners Defense. Oklahoma must get down the field, and must keep the Gators return units in check. Advantage: Florida

        Oklahoma's Defense: As during the Texas Tech game, Oklahoma has proved it hasn't forgotten how to play defense. And with Texas Tech being the only team as close to an SEC team style that OU has played all year, OU's confidence on defense at the start of this game should be soaring. Look for the Sooners D to play a mix of man to man and zone coverage, and bring a myriad of exotic blitzes as well as disguising their blitz packages to force Tebow into making bad throws into coverage. OU should struggle to contain Percy Harvin's blazing fast speed to the outside, as well as containing the option. With safety Nic Harris prowling the middle of the field, look for Tebow to force OU to play man coverage, and pass to the outside, trying to utilize Florida's speedy receivers to burn OU's db's deep as well as working the sidelines. If the Sooners can duplicate the effort they put forth against Texas Tech, the Sooner will win this ball game. Advantage: Florida

        Crowd: With the game being in Miami, look for a big number of Gators fans to turnout in support of their team. Not to say a good number of Sooner fans won't be there, but the crowd factor will go to the Gators, so even though the Gators will wear their away jersey's, this will be just like a home game for the Gators. Advantage: Florida

        Oklahoma Coaching: Bob Stoops is no stranger to big games or the National Stage, Stoops will no doubt come with a big bag of tricks that he will deploy to derail the Gators quick strike n' score offense. Only question remains, is will this be the Big Game Bob that has shown up the past 4 BCS Games? or will this be the crafty, gusty, cunning coach that won the National Championship against Florida State in 2000? I think we can all agree that if his defense fails to show up, Oklahoma will certainly be doomed. Advantage: Florida

        Florida Coaching: Urban Meyer is fast become a legend, while the memories of Steve Spurrier are quickly fading to the back of Gator fans minds. Meyer brings a certain commanding style of coaching to the college scene, yet he does it without getting big production from any single player. There are no big name stars with razzle dazzle stats on this Gators team. No 1,000 yard rushers, no 1,000 yard receivers, no 3500 yard passing QB. Nope. Meyer gets his squad to play together as a team, unselfishly, and very well disciplined. Every offensive player that touches the ball is a threat to score, the receivers and tight ends have come up with spectacular catches in clutch moments all season long, don't expect anything less in this game. Advantage: Florida

        The X Factor: Whoever can control the time of possession, and controls the clock, and maintains ball control will win this game. Look for Bob Stoops to come out and pound the ball to force the Gators Defense to stay on the field for long periods of time just as he did against Texas Tech. When the Gators Defense cheats up to the line of scrimmage, look for Bradford to go over the top to Iglesias and Gresham for big plays. Additionally, let's hope the refs call a fair game for both sides, and let the kids play ball, instead of calling every little itty bitty stupid penalty. Advantage: Sooners

        Final Assessment: I can't see Bob Stoops allowing his team to come out and flop as they have in the past. Last year's 48-28 thrashing by WV is no doubt still fresh in his mind, and I look for Stoops to keep this team focused, and to practice them vigorously but not enough to wear them out before the game. Stoops will drill it into this teams head that need to be confident, but not cocky. Humble, but not arrogant. All in all this game will have all the hype, the glamour, the razzle dazzle, and the hooplah of Texas vs USC game back in 2006. The big hits, the big catches, the big runs. I look for the Sooners to go down and kick a field goal to win it as time expires. Sooners 45 - Gators 42.

          I think that was and excellent breakdown of both squads, particularily the last Final Assessment, for whatever reason, and I am sure there is more then one, Stoops has kind of let his team lose focus, and I can see why since it is a WHOLE MONTH befor they always play, and there are tons of distractions during that time.

          Just want a close, good game, not another BLOWOUT!

            I really don't like these teams, but I hate Florida more. It goes back to the Spurrier days. They are just annoying, and they don't play tough football. I hope OU hangs 60 on them, and I think they can.

              well that didn't take long. less than a week after the BCS selection show, we have our first NC Game Matchup controversy.

              Florida's offensive coordinator took the Miss. State head coaching job. Only question that remains is does he leave before the National Championship or after? If he leaves before, how big does this effect the Gators, and their game plan?

              Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen will be the new coach at Mississippi State, CBSSports.com has learned.

              Mullen took the job after Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson turned it down Tuesday or early Wednesday, according to a source familiar with the process.

              Mullen, 36, will take over for Sylvester Croom, leaving Urban Meyer's side after eight seasons.

              Mullen is credited with helping develop Alex Smith, an NFL No. 1 draft choice, while at Utah. Mullen coached Chris Leak during Florida's national championship season, and for the last three seasons he has been the offensive coordinator for Tim Tebow.

              It is not clear what Mullen's duties with Florida will be going forward. He is part of a staff that is preparing for its second national championship game in three seasons.

                I hope Mullen stays to coach one last game, but if not the Gators will be fine. Coaching staff is solid enough to pick up the slack. I wish Coach Mullen all the luck in the world, whenever he isn't playing the Gators.

                  If I was either Tebow or Bradford, I would NOT want to win the Hypesman, it usually is a curse in the Champ. game.

                            Didnt you guys lose a bowl game to Michigan of all teams last year? Some reason I just can't get that off of my mind.

                              Yes, but Michigan was actually decent last year. Didn't you guys get run over by West Virginia last year? The images of Steve Slaton, Pat White, and Noel Devine running over and through your defense still run fresh through my mind. You better pray that doesn't happen again with the speedsters Florida has.
