Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I would rather gouge my eyes out than watch this game.
So I won't watch. The "offensive mastermind" is in over his head and Hawaii has easily been one of the most over hyped teams in history the past couple years.
Just came back from my friends and wow what a game for Golden Tate. Jimmy Clausen I still think is over rated but wow Golden Tate is Eddie Royal version 2.
Golden Tate and Micheal Floyd make Jimmy Clausen what he is today. I honestly don't think Jimmy can win a big game against good opponents. I know this was a bowl game and all but seriously.... It's Hawaii, and honestly from what I saw, they were one of the worst prepared team we've faced all season long and I don't see this as being a "big game" if you know what I'm saying..
Seeing that whenever we've faced legit teams he's crumbled away into making stupid mistakes.
Yeah whenever we've faced good teams the offensive line gets dismantled but honestly Clausen has made dumb mistakes even with protection and plus the added pressure from the defense, he's like a chicken with his head cut off.
So until Clausen can win games against good teams I'm holding off on even calling him a good quarterback. Hopefully next season since that's when Quinn started blooming.
You have to give Clausen credit, his passes were on the money and he really showed off his strong arm. That pass to Tate in the corner of the endzone was particularly impressive. Maybe next season is his breakout season.

I'm not saying he didn't have a good game or anything it's just that the whole game he's had great blocking from the offensive line giving him no pressure, Clausen I have to admit is really good when there's no pressure on him, but every time he does he has no clue what to do and he just throws it up in the air for people to pick him off.
For next season he has to bulk up a lot more, I know he gained like 10 pounds(?) at the beginning of this season but he's still pretty small right now and that added bulk will really help him shed tackles like Brady did.
im not thrilled with a 6-6 regular season, and I was pretty hard with my judgements of Charlie Weiss this year, but I have to give the man a pass for the rest of the year, as he's done something no coach since Lou Holtz has done, and that's finally win a freaking bowl game which lets the Irish finish up with a winning record at 7-6.
Hopefully this will be the turning point for the Irish, and we can get this thing turned around going the right direction and get back to being a Top 10 team. I know it's unrealistic to expect National Championships, so I'll be happy with being a Top 10 Team, paired up with some BCS Bowl game victories.
If the Irish fall apart next year, I will be all in support of Weiss being fired. Nothing less than a Top 10 finish will be acceptable in my opinion next year, as it will be his 5th season. Time for Weiss to show he's earned that big contract.

I agree with everything you said.
If Charlie Weis can get the team together we'll be back to the Brady Quinn era caliber team again and realistically we could be a top ten team by the time Clausen is a senior.
But this is Charlie's last year to prove himself and if things turn out badly then I can definitely say he's gone.
But damn.. Jimmy Clauson is the Best QB I have EVER seen on any level of play.
I hope the Broncos somehow get him and he replaces Cutler.
Though he will probably be a #1 pick and we won't have a shot at him
Damn hes a great Quarterback. He makes Brady Quinn look horrible.
just goes to show...hawaii = a sham of a college football program
they never deserve to be even mentioned as a serious team until they schedule better
I don't think their problem is scheduling - they scheduled Florida in the Swamp in the first week of the season (and got throttled), they're just not a good team. They do well against WAC competition, but when they play decent out of conference teams (Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame), they get throttled. Boise State is the only WAC team who can compete with those calibre of programs.
I just can't see how Notre Dame can not beat Hawaii.
With Notre Dame struggling to stop the run and with Hawaii never running I see Notre Dames defense taking this one because honestly ND's pass defense isn't bad at all no matter what stats tell you..
Plus when we face weak QB's we dominate them and seeing that Hawaii's quarterback got benched for a majority of the game I can tell we are going to go after him all day long with blitzes.
The only thing that bothers me though is the offense of this team. We can't rush, we are beyond inconsistent passing (Jimmy ), and quite frankly majority of the times the play calling sucks because we can't execute. So with that being said if Jimmy can have a game without 2-3 INTs and with Micheal Floyd coming back I could see ND winning this.
All that I said was true
Seriously I felt bad for that quarterback Alexander because honestly he had no time to pass and was running for his life all game and honestly if they had that other QB for them Funaki(spelling?) starting I think it would've been a different ball game offensively for Hawaii.
And I really wanted to see Dayne Crist play that game but of course he's redshirted so no action this year.
