Overrated College Teams

Can America PLEASE now get over its love affair with Ohio State and Oklahoma? Both of these schools have been terrible when it counted for a decade now, and yet everybody still talks about them as if they're the best programs in college football. These two are constantly overrated because they're being evaluated in the glow of their past successes, but neither of these programs has shown that they deserve that much respect anytime this century.

How long has it been since OSU or OU have won a bowl game? Seriously. People need to stop kissing their feet and evaluate them fairly based on their current quality.

You better get USED to OU making it almost every year, because they aren't going anywhere anytime soon, they just keep recruiting every good player. What about the love affair of Tebow and Florida, or USC for that matter!

One thing you had better count on, Florida, Texas, USC, OU, LSU, are all going to be at the top, EVERY YEAR, you can take that to the bank. Matter of fact that will be your top 5 next year most likely!

I agree with you for the most part regarding OU, as they have been flat out bad when it comes to BCS games.

I will however disagree with you on Ohio State.

Yes, Ohio State has lost it's last three BCS games, but before that they were 4-0 in BCS bowl games beating some of the best teams in the country and winning a national title in the process.

To answer your question, Ohio State last won a bowl game in 2006 beating Notre Dame in the Fiesta bowl in convincing fashion. They were then blown out in two National Title games and this year lost a heartbreaker to Texas, a team many considered the best in the country...on the last play of the game.

How many strait games did Miami win before Ohio State beat them in '03? DJ Williams, John Vilma, Sean Taylor, Roscoe Parrish, Andre Johnson, Willis McGahee, Dorsey etc etc etc. That was less than ten years ago. There's a team called Texas. Many thought they should have played for a national championship. Ohio State lost to them due to a blown coverage at the end of the 4th quarter. That was less than a month ago. I can't speak for Oklahoma, because I don't live there and don't know them as well. But, I'm pretty sure they are an elite college football program. Stop watching tv.
