TCU will crash the BCS this year much like Utah did last year. That Defense is Nasty. I wish the MWC would just expand and grab Boise State already, just makes so much sense to me.

however, i do not care. lol. we've been passed over many-a-time so.

now if we can repeat what we did last year (plus one) and go undefeated we are golden. getting past Oregon again will be huge and now we have a giant advantage...
the preseason ranks are based on how the team is expected to do this year, not what happened last year. i'm surprised that the media has colorado ranked as high as they do, considering how bad we've been lately. ranked 37th by espn, not bad

well, i think it'd be erroneous to assume the previous season doesn't play at least a small role in determining rank for preseason. however, overall that's correct.

did utah, byu and tcu lose key players? because bsu hardly lost anyone, which could contribute. the year after we won the fiesta bowl, we were still ranked, but still pretty low. why? most likely because we lost 22 seniors and weren't expected to be the same team, or near as talented, and we weren't.

now we have a team dominated by underclassmen who still have at least 2 or 3 years left who went undefeated their freshman season.

so that's probably the main reason we are ranked higher than the other three. or at least that's my main theory.

I love LSU but I'm surprised USA Today has LSU ranked over Ole Miss....even though one rank!

Can't wait to see how this all plays out, I am surprised the SEC did not get anymore in the rankings and with the return of the CornHolers the big 12 should be very good yet again.
if man is 5 and jay cutler is 6 then that must make john elway 7

              The Big 12 is overrated

Ok St. lost to Oregon in its bowl game
              Texas barely survived OSU
and OU got beat handedly by UF

I'm just glad that there are 4 Pac-10 teams in the top 25 (USC, Oregon, Cal, Oregon State)

Both TCU and Utah have lost some big starters and that is the reason they are ranked lower. If you lose a bunch of seniors (or big play makers) then you usually get dropped in the polls. BSU had more than half their team that were FR or SO last year. So according to pre-season poll guidance a team that did amazing the year before should repeat with the same players.
