I have noticed a ton of absolutely awful calls in college football this year. The SEC seems to be the most egregious. Even plays that make it to replay and are obvious are called wrong on many occasions. I am not a fan of any particular college team, I just like to see good competitive games, so this is not a sour grapes thread.
LSU vs Alabama had a play toward the end that could have given LSU a chance to get back in it that was just ridiculous. A defender made an interception on the sideline and it was called incomplete, it went to replay and the video showed an obvious INT. The refs upheld the call. This is just one example of pathetic officiating that I have noticed this college season.
I think one of the problems is that conferances have their own officiating crews. If an SEC team is poised for a National Championship run And one of the teams with no chance comes in and threatens to upset that run, the conferance is sure to be pulling for the big team. I'm not usually a conspirancy type of guy, but to me this one seems kinda legit. For instance: if Arkansas would have upset Florida the SEC could have been out a ton of money in the long run.
Just an observation and some food for thought.
