Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

His stats this year scream Heisman. But will playing for Stanford hurt him? Guarantee if a back from the SEC or BigXII had his stats, theyd be a no-brainer.

It would be a crime for him to not win the Heisman. I don't want to make this a race issue but if he doesn't win I'd suspect something fishy going on.
I dont think itd be a race issue. Not with Tebow and McCoy still being named as frontrunners.
I think its more the fact that he plays in the PAC10. And more so that he plays for Stanford.
He's the most consistent player on the Heisman list and it's not like he played scrub teams the whole time either so I'll be rooting for the guy since he's not just a player but he's smart as hell.

That's a silly thing to say.
I love Colt McCoy, but Gerhart just saw McCoy's performance against Texas A&M and raised him. Yeah, Gerhart won the Heisman today. He did everything except the laundry for the Cardinal.

I know it's over the top thing to say but I can't say I'd be apposed to it if he really doesn't win.
I'm glad Notre Dame's craptastic defense put Toby over the edge no matter how hard the ND offense tried with their crap tackles Toby would just smack them in the mouth every time he was on the field.
There were only 2 games this whole year that Gerhart didnt go over 100 yards. One he ran for 82 and the other he ran for 96. Only one game he didnt score a TD, and that was the second game of the season (his 82 yard game).
His lowest average this year was 4.4 yards a carry.
He had 9 multi TD games.
Broke the PAC10 single season TD rushing record with 26.
1st in the country in rushing TDs. I think 2nd in yards (maybe 1st. not sure). And also I think 2nd in yards per game.
If those stats dont say Heisman, then I dont know what does.

1. His name is not metioned enough on television, people like Tebow and McCoy are praised for wiping their butts in the morning. Gerhart ravaged USC and barely was even noticed.
2. He is not a prototype anything. He is both large and quick, but he is vanilla. He reminds me of Tim Duncan...Not flashy but unearthly effective. Players like this NEVER get their due until they are on a stage where they cannot be ignored.
3. He's not on Cal or USC (since he's in the Pac 10) and he's not from one of the "good" conferences like: the SEC (with only a handful of teams competing for bowls), the Big 10: The conference that lost all but one bowl last year, or the overrated Big 12....
He might make it as a fullback in the pros. He reminds me of Peyton hillis. Where has he been the past 3 years? This is his first season to really do anything worth talking about. Having said that, he won't win the heisman. He's in a small media market on an average team. No way he wins over McCoy or Tebow (who is the most overrated player in history) it's not just how hood the player is, but how good he makes his team. Florida and Texas will be 1 and 2.
