Put them in any of the major BCS conferences and see if they continue to go undefeated year in and year out. Not to mention, I'd like to see their gimmicky offense work year in, year out against better talent and better coaches. I believe they have great offense success against even the quality teams because nobody really sees that kind of offense in the BCS leagues, and probably catches players off guard. Let these DC's and players play against this every year and it will probably become less and less effective.
you know BSU tried to play Florida and Texas right?!!?
of course they declined them because if they lost to BSU, there goes their season (i.e. Appalachian all over again)

The way I look at it is, why should Florida or Texas play them? The SEC and Big 12 Conference schedules are hard enough to get you into the NC, so why take the risk of playing good teams that might be able to upset you and hurt your chances.

I agree, that is why the college football system is BS in my opinion. IMO, there really isn't a great way to do it...but my uncle mentioned a system that sounds the fairest and would allow EVERY team a chance at the national championship, if they just continue to win.

I believe there are roughly 124 division 1 teams...therefor roughly put everyone into conferences of 12, 6 teams on either side. Play your normal 9 game conference schedule, pair the 2 winners of each side against each other in the conference championship, then the winner of the conference moves onto the tournament. There, you can seed the teams or whatever because some teams will surely get buys, and then you just play it out from there. Again, this isn't a perfect system but it would be a better way to crown a national champion.

Other perks of this system would be that we could see matchups like Boise vs Florida and other great teams play in the regular season because if you lost, who cares, you still have as good of a shot as anyone else to make the national championship so long as you do well in your conference. Just a thought, would never happen, but that is the best thing I could come up with.

This may sound funny coming from me, but I'm a big fan of the bowl system. The BCS obviously has too much leverage, but I love the tradition of the bowl games.

Additionally, if an 8 team or 16 team system were adopted it would take a lot of money out of a lot programs. It would shorten the regular season and it would also limit the number of teams that get to play in the post-season.

I think the bowl system is great. It gives the students and the athletes to celebrate.

What I would like to see is the BCS stripped of some of it's power so that teams are placed in bowls based upon national ranking. I also like the idea of the plus one system. Additionally, I think the Cotton Bowl should be added to the BCS.

No, its not funny because a lot of other people feel the same way you do.

The BCS only makes $$$$ for BCS Conf. thats why they don't want the Gravy Train to end any time soon.

It would make sense to have a 11 game regular season, no Confrence championship games, and then a 8 team Tourn., that way you could keep the current Bowl games in place, they could still make their MEGA bucks, and you could still have a true champ. That way the two that made it to the Champ game would only play 14 games MAX, which a LOT of teams do now anyway, when you factor in the 12 game reg. season, conf. champ. and bowlgame.

I also agree the BCS should be abolished, and I think we will see the Cotton Bowl being added to the Major Bowls now that it is played at Jerry's World.

What exactly is the plus one system?

The current BCS system has the Championship game being played after the rest of the BCS games. You take the top 4 ranked teams and put them against each other in BCS games. The two winners play one week later in the Championship.

Now I am reading from the IdahoStatesman.com that your AD Brockmeir is saying Nebraska will NOT be on the 2011 sched.

I'm taking a look at yout Non-Con next year, and they have Virginia Tech, which will be a top 10 team again, Toledo or Wyoming, I believe both Bowl teams, and Oregon State. Looks pretty stiff.

Next year is as good of a chance as we will have at being in the championship discussion at the end of the year. We will be ranked in the top 4 at the beginning. Who knows though, it's a long season and a lot can happen.

The VT game has me a little nervous. They should be pumped for that game. It will be in their back yard and BSU will probably be favored by about 3. It should be a good one though. It's likely to get moved to Labor Day weekend.

Oh, the AD's name is Gene Blayemeyer.
