Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Colorado Buffalos: Hansen and Hawkins dead even in Spring ball
I find this report troubling, because Hawkins is rubbish, not D1 level QB, looks like another horrible season for my beloved Buffs. And going by the comments in the comment section, i am not alone.

I just CANNOT BELIEVE they cant find a better replacement at QB and coach.
Dan Hawkins has failed as a coach and a father. Should have sent his son to go the Jr. College route and see if he could play there first. Do you really think any blue chip QB's are going to come to CU when they know Hawkins is a lame duck coach and they have to compete with daddy's boy? Hawkins please go and take Cody and Miss Bohn with you!

I don't think any Blue Chips in general will want to go to CU. They have had great recruiting classes, have gotten Blue Chip players, yet they still fail. Any recruit should see what happened the Darrel Scott. He was the best RB in the country, yet somehow he managed to fail at CU. Just doesn't make any sense to me how bad of a coach Hawkins really is.

True. If you go back and look at some of their recruiting classes, they got guys who were getting offers from USC, UCLA, Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame etc etc and how many of them panned out?
Sure there's going to be some busts, there always is in every single class, but the way they bust up at the CU, not just a little, but they completely fall off the face of the earth (Darrell Scott, Marques Simas, Andre Simmons) Simas had some nice games last year, but the cat is always suspended for something, I don't think Hawkins likes the guy.
Why CU hasn't gotten rid of the guy yet is beyond belief.
Barnett did about a gazillion times better even in the midst of the rape scandal.
I don't know if you guys have ever been to a Buffs practice, but if you haven't I gotta tell you that Cody looks by far better than Tyler. It's been that way since Cody has been on campus, he is amazing in practice. However I still believe Tyler will be the starter come this fall.

A couple other names, Lynn Katoa. The guy was one of the best linebackers the year they got Scott. Now I don't see him on the roster. Ray Polk, another stud RB in Scott's class, is he gonna play at Saftey? And I know Ryan Miller was a Freshman All-American a couple years ago, and they had another Lineman that was but I can't remember his name, but what happened to him? I don't think he is starting either. Like, I don't know what they are doing with their players, but they just cannot develop the players like other schools can.

Cody can look as good as he wants in practice, but until puts up numbers in games, practice means nothing.

Hey even though I am a fan of a BITTER rival, besides being born in Scottsbluff Nebraska, I truly believe that Colorado could get another coach like McCartney again, if the Athletic Dept. heads, and the University bosses WANTED it to happen!!
Nebraska was headed down the same exact path as Colorado was, untill the CHANCELLOR for cryin out loud, took the bull by the horns, fired the Athletic Director AND hired Osborne, who in turn canned the BIG MISTAKE aka Coach Callahan, and hired who SHOULD HAVE BEEN HIRED in the 1st place, Pelini.

So it can be done!
I am a fan on another Rival as well And I also really believe that the Athletic Dept. needs to do something about this football team. Bring them back to their glory days and pay some money for a good coach.

We can, we just have to wait until Hawkins' contract is up. I can't wait to get rid of the guy. He has done nothing since coming here.

If CU can just sign a big name coach, they will be ok. But the AD won't spend the money for the big name, therefore it is going to be hard to get a coach with a good reputation at CU. And without a coach with a good reputation, CU will not be able to recruit with the big boys of the Big 12 and will lose out on a lot of good in state recruits who would usually choose CU.
i think it's sad and funny at the same time that 90% of the posts in the colorado buffaloes thread are from non buff fans. thanks a lot for killing most cu fans passion for the buffaloes (including mine), bohn.
