Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

It will not be official untill the Big 10 Officials meet in the first week of June, but they have all been invited to join the Big 10 Confrence. I believe they want a super Conf. Mizzou is tired of the unfair money revenue sharing practices of the Big 12, and Osbourne has never been a fan of the Conf. Texas teams making all the rules and holding all the power!

Look for a MAJOR shakeup in the next few weeks!
While I am not into NCAA football, it would be wierd to see Nebrska leave.

The largest FBS/DI conference is the MAC with thirteen teams.
The previous version of the WAC (pre Mountain West) had sixteen teams and was too large.
Why would Notre Dame want to be in a conference? They make more money not being in a FB conference. They play BB in the Big East.
Conferences can get too big. I don't know if this sounds workable.
I'm a little skeptical of this. I know the Big Ten is most likely going to expand, but why Missouri? Also, I agree with the Notre Dame, why would they do it?
Unless the OP can provide a link I think there's going to be skepticism around this.

Missouri and Illinois always play each other to begin the season, so I could see them coming into the conference.

No what they want is N.D. for sure, plus MAYBE 2 more teams, but that could always change.
And yes ND makes a lot of money, but NO CONFRENCE in the country has as deep pockets as the Big 10. They have the LARGEST Alumni base by far, it isnt even close, and they have their own TV package in place , so no is the time for them and the Pac 10 to expand.

All you have to do is read the Internet, listen to ESPN, and read the Newspapers man! This is old news too. I first heard about it 6 months or more ago, but back then it was just in the RUMOR phase.
Check out HUSKERPEDIA.COM, thats just one of the sources talking about it right now.
So would CU and Nebraska still play every year? That would mean two guaranteed out of conference games scheduled for CU every year.
And Kansas Mizzou (the Border War) is the oldest rivalry in college football. It's unbelievable how money is preferred over traditions. But that's just the way the world is.

Lighten up dude....I'm not questioning your integrity. I'm saying until I hear that it is offical I'm not going to believe it. You might very well be right, but the point I'm making is there have been varying spins on this "rumor".
I know the Big Ten will expand. I'm just not sure when and with who.

I really dont know how any of this pans out yet really, but I do know Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri have been disatisfied with the Big 12 / Texas Monopoly for a while now, so it's going to be interesting to see how this all pans out.
You are right about one thing, and that is $$$$$ is what is driving all of this. That's what started the Big 12 in the FIRST place!

I know that some of the Big 12 members were dissatisfied with the Texas monopoly, but wasn't Texas the primary target of the Big 12? What happened with that?

I got a text message yesterday saying that Nebraska, Missouri, Notre Dame and Rutgers have been given an offer to join the Big Ten.
Then I got another one saying that Nebraska says they have no offer; Missouri will not respond to speculation.

Well if they start winning, then maybe the Big 12/Texas monopoly won't happen. But for now, the only teams that are successful are Oklahoma and Texas.
