Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Hey guy's umm soo yeah. I haven't played football since last year. And was wondering what I (5-8, 16 years old, 140 lbs, with the ability to catch a football) would play in the 2011-2012 school year. If I spent all of next year getting bigger, and kinda faster. Thanks.
That's about the size I was in 10th grade, but I had speed and aggressive tendacies on my side. I played both sides of the ball, starting some games at HB and some at OLB.
If not, then there's always kicker and punter. They still give out scholarships for kicking and punting, ya know. My highschool kicker could've gone to Stanford as a kicker, but he liked baseball more. I don't know what happened to him.
Probably any position that doesn't involve getting in a 3 point stance. I was about that size, about 10 pounds heavier though, and I played RB, WR, and MLB.
as a 10th grader I look at you as a WR or a Cb..... You are probably not done growing yet. How tall is your dad? If he is 6'2ish. I saw focus on WR cause you are going to top 6'. If not then CB is the way to go. Speed isnt that important in HS.. technique wins the day on Fridays.
But if you are up to it and your dad is in the 5'8 range. I say hit the weight room get some bulk and try out RB. was my first love. You get to catch the ball, and run. Not to mention you get to hit people. A lot of fun.
But in the end... pick the position that you love and play it as best you can and give you all to it. Don't let someone tell you you are to small. Look at Domm.... ust give it your all, listen to your coaches and leave it on the field
Thanx Blondie79 for the sweet Sig....Love it and I will rock it with pridesigpic

Some Damn good advice there. You will probably be over the 6' range so yea, i would say WR or CB. Play with your heart and give it all you got. Like this man said, dont let anyone tell you that you cant do something. Critics have said that to Maurice Jones-Drew his whole life and look at him. Just let the nay-sayers drive you even further.
Keep it in your head that you will succeed and you will. Do great in class as well. Colleges look for someone who can play and study. Shows you can multi-task and still do good in multiple things. Good Luck man.

Gentlemen I thank you, thing is my dad is 5'6'' hahaha. And yeah did I mention I'm looked at as a nerd? but yeah I agree with all of you. I think I'm gonna work on corner. One more question. What kind of drills do I need to work on to get a whole lot better?

Find out when Summer ball starts, get a physical and go out now!
Don't wait!
You can get bigger and stronger while working out with your teammates and playing JV this year!
Pull the trigger, Bro!
Get it done!

Who cares what you look like.....My freshman year... One of my teammates came out for football with no exp with the game, and not looking the part. But the guy wanted to play, he listened to his coach, did everything that they asked, and worked his ass off in the weight room. Rode the bench all year as a freshman, started JV as a soph, Varsity as a Junior, Was all County as a senior and he ended up with a scholarship to Oregon St. So anything can happen
As for drills..... If Cb is the position that you wanna play. You gotta work on your back pedal. Keeping your hips down, knees bent. Old school pilon drills work good.
Hit the weight room, cause if this is your first year in football, you want to do something to stand out. Be physical, don't be afraid of a little contact.
