I don't think BSU is an option for the PAC 10. Our stadium is too small. We already compete in the PAC 10 in gymnastics and wrestling, but I don't know how that translates into conference membership.

Our best shot at improving conference ties is to jump into the Mountain West. The Mountain West is currently waiting to see how the shakedown with the Big 12 works out. I think Colorado is the golden egg they were hoping for, but that fell through. One other option for the Mountain West is to pick up the left overs of the Big 12 like Kansas and Kansas State. It's really unclear at this time whether or not BSU would be in that picture.

That is nonsense. If the Big12 ends up dissolving because of this, then they need to give their auto-bid to the MWC. No reason Pac10 should have 2. Scary thing is I could see other conferences trying to raid conferences to make their own superconference. Then they could all request 2 auto-bids, which could turn out that there are like 3 conferences with 2 autos each just raking in the money.

I do think if this happens then the MWC will come back to BSU and ask them to join. That way they will have more ammo to try to get themselves bumped up to a BCS conference.
Yeah that doesn't make any sense. There is no way they would give an auto-bid to an 8 team conference, which is basically what they would be doing.

I think they're gonna be in a tougher conference overall. Maybe they will thrive, gotta get some better recruiting going on first.

we're still waiting on word from the Mountain West conference, who renigged on their invitation so they could wait and see what was going to happen with the other conferences. they wanted Colorado. they won't get them. they may have to come crawling back to us.

lol one step at a time for boise.

MWC would be great if boise's there, and well... also if fresno and nevada joined.

And they took the crap and gave it to wac.

Then that conference would get better recognition, and the strength of schedule would go up significantly for boise and the others.

I remember that, but I also remember the thought on the refusal then was that CU was a top team in a better football conference in 94. Now they are middle of the road in football and could possibly have better in roads in recruiting being in the Pac-10. Who knows. One of the conspiracy theories I have heard is that the Pac-10 would love to have teams in different time zones to get better exposure TV wise. It's all about the money. But I will hate not playing big red every year. It is just a tradition I grew up with and hate that it's going away.
