that 2001 team would have likely gotten killed by the 1995 huskers, just like the second best team in the nation got destroyed 62-24 that year....now that is a massacre.

also, the 2005 Trojans were not as dominate either, they were not even national champions that year.

^^ even though i don't totally agree you get the point.

The 01 Canes werent as dominate as the 95 Huskers? Miami outscored their opponents an average of 42-9. Sure you guys put up more points than us in the season but good luck trying to score on this defense.

Also Miami blew the freakin doors in against two ranked teams in consecutive weeks beating Syracuse 59-0 and Washington 65-7, which is a record for the largest margin of victory over ranked teams.

Theyre different teams in different times. Im not sitting here saying that Miami would beat Nebraska (unlike you who is claiming it based on...nothing) but I doubt Nebraska would be able to just roll over Miami like they were Vanderbilt or something. And yeah to say that the 01 team wasnt dominant that year is pretty silly.

There never was before, and will never be AGAIN, a College Football team as dominate as Nebraska 1995! 1971 Huskers were the only team voted CLOSE ina ESPN PUBLIC POLL!!

A lot of so-called critics and experts agree on this well known fact also. So you don't have to listen to me or take my word for it.

          HOMER ALERT!

The 1991 Washington Huskies outscoored their opponents 495-115, about an average of 41-9. A lot of those points scored against them were garbage time against backups. I don't know how they would've fared against Miami that year who they split the National Title with or even UCLA who they didn't meet. Definitely the best Huskies team I ever saw.

And I qualify by saying this:

Beat Ohio State at Ohio State (ranked #2)

Outscored opponents 652-213 (50 PPG average)
              Won Big XII CG 70-3
National Championship win against what was being called the best team in the NCAA as it sported dual heisman winners.

they were good but not as dominate as the 1995 huskers.

the huskers outscored their opponents 638-174 that is playing one less game than the longhorns did.

not only that but Texas only faced two top 10 teams that year (ohio state and USC) and you beat them both by 3 points. also you bragging about beating an unranked Colorado 70-3 in the big 12 championship game means little

Nebraska faced 4 top 10 teams in 1995 and beat the crap out of all of them. #8 Kansas st 49-25, #7 Colorado 44-21 on the road and back to back, #10 Kansas 41-3 on the road, #2 Florida 62-24 in the national championship game.

sorry, but like i said.....your team was good that year but not as good or as dominate as the 1995 huskers.

i never said that team wasn't dominate, i just said they weren't as dominate as my huskers were in 1995.

your defense was definitely better that year, i will give you that but we simply beat better teams than you did and destroyed them all.

the only top 10 team you even faced were my huskers who (if you remember) backed into that game after getting manhandled by Colorado the game before 36-62.

and you want to talk about beating ranked teams back to back? the huskers beat two top 10 teams back to back 49-25 and 41-21

the huskers faced 4 top 10 teams that year and destroyed them all including the #2 ranked team 62-24.

you might disagree with my opinion but i still think the huskers were more dominate, especially considering they faced tougher competition and walked through all of them.

no team stood a chance that year, they were certainly not scraping by any unranked teams 18- 7 that is for sure.

the closest team that stood a chance was Washington st. who trailed 28-7 in the third quarter only to come back in garbage time and make it a 35-21 final....

yes the huskers were more dominate that year than your canes' in 2001

I believe Pac-10 teams played only 7-8 teams on their conference during that time, and UCLA for some reason was not on the Huskies' schedule.

Ask Spurrier and all those Florida Gators who the most dominate team was in history.

And the 01 Canes need to also remember, before the MASSACRE in Boulder, Nebraska was the best team in the Nation, being the FISRT team to beat OU since 1999 season finale in the Independance Bowl.
