I believe for almost all high profile teams its about dont get caught and what you get caught for at this point ... I don't feel sorry for Auburn or the NCAA but Cam Newton well naw I dont feel sorry for him either ...

thing is if you read the article, it really seems as if this 'agent' was using cam's name to extort money from universities without his permission. but ya never know. the boys creditability is questionable already.

worst part, if it does come down to it being true, like ya'll said it will be long after he is making millions in the NFL. and the only ones who will suffer will be the auburn organization left behind to pick up the pieces. vacating wins. possibly a NC if it goes their way this year. and potential bowl appearances. ask pete carroll and reggie bush how all the crud at usc has affected them. not!
*although i love the fact that kiffin has to deal with it all. karma baby!

              How so ... ?

USC and Auburn made and will make way more money off Newton and Reggie Bush then what they will every even begin to imagine playing 10 life times in the NFL .. I understand the players on the team will suffer but the money is still there for both these schools ...

ok usually my parents tended to ask me if i did my math homework when we are talking about math, and not when talking about english! i was confused because i thought you were questioning my info on newton, especially since you quoted me. thank you jesus! i thought i had totally flaked on the whole bush/carroll fiasco...

as for my homework, yes! great vids. and i see what you mean about them both being cut from the same cloth. i actually cant wait to see him come out of the tunnel for the next game. what an amazing person. passionate, motivated, articulate. and a superb player of course! doesnt hurt that hes easy on the eyes too! :thumb:

not really. usc is giving up four years of bowl eligibility which means several millions lost for the program. and im not positive, but the shared money through the conference is distributed by ranking. and if usc cant make a bowl game they get a lesser portion of the pot. and by losing scholarships they lose the ability to recruit as many top notch players which hurts the game in future years and hurts the program.

bush and carroll get to keep every penny they make in the nfl, without having to sacrifice even though it was their shady dealings that got them the status they needed to secure the nfl contracts. and all said and done? the shady agent keeps his 15%.

I think its two years but even then USC is still USC they will be around long after any player that every played for them ... There are one of the most recognized sports teams in world and the money the players make that played for them pails in comparison to how much they make each and every minute of the day

What a huge risk Auburn is taking

Miss St reported this last summer, all the SEC schools were notified. Auburn still signed him and played him & "he will play Saturday". It was odd that he didn't go to Miss St....

Even if guilty, Cam will be fine, he'll earn big bucks in the NFL, no matter what happens to Auburn and his teammates. I didn't think he should win the Heisman before this happened because of his criminal record.

Your right about how the Pac 10 distributes the revenue to each of the teams as you posted previously and USC could lose money because of the penalty but the money lost will not hurt USC this is not Appalachia State were talking about ...

These articles are little out of date ... This first one is just sports

USC generates $76.4 million in revenue

USC and UCLA's athletic programs generated more than $142 million in revenue during the 2007-08 academic year, according to documents prepared by the school for the U.S. Department of Education.

Granted this don't include expenditures but this is a glimpse at USC yearly revenue and I think USC will be ok financially.. So no I don't feel sorry for the school or program ...

                          Revenue
                          Primary Revenue $2,218,495,352
                          Other Revenue $250,839,447
                          Total Revenue $2,469,334,799

                          Net Assets $4,872,374,031
