while i agree on most points that it's probably better to play in the FBS than the FCS, and that their NC game really doesn't amount to much and no one pays attention to who the FCS National Champion is, their process for getting to said game is less fake and 100% more fair than the process of getting to the REAL Fake National Championship game in FBS because of the BCS. yeah it's the BCS National Title but can it really, truly be called the College Football National Title?
no because only a select group of teams even have a chance at said title. there are 120 teams in FBS and only 65 (69 if you count the Independents) have a a true shot at the title. not sure if my math is correct on that but basically only around HALF of the teams in FBS college football are really "eligible" and the rest are really playing for nothing.
i mean BSU will probably end up back at #3 after tomorrow or for sure after next week and if either Oregon or Auburn (or God-forbid both) lose by the end of the season... even then BSU's chances for getting up to #2 are slim...
now how is THAT fair?
so really, is there even a real, true national title in any division of college football? one of them is sham, almost rigged, money grubbing machine, and the other 3 don't even matter because MOST people only care about FBS football.

Best program i'd say is LA Tech... the others just have a better history... but I think when we all leave, it's LA Techs conference.
(granted hawaii leaves)
edit: and sky, idk about you but i'd rather my team be playing with the big boys rather than wish for mediocrity.. That would be like asking the denver broncos to switch to UFL...
And Sparky, the rivalry game wouldn't be the same. Every year it's the last game of the season and it's usually for the Big Sky conference or the winner gets to play in the playoffs.
Fake National Title? It's the National Title for the FCS, the FBS has nothing to do with it. It's very much a National Title.
I don't even know why you guys are arguing with me, I prefer watching FCS football much like some people prefer watching college football over pro football. There's just a different feel to it. If you want to call it mediocrity, fine. [shrugs]Leave a comment:

And your point is?
If the Griz moved up they would have
1) Lost one of the longest rivalry games in college football (today was the 110th meeting between Montana and Montana State). Do you have any idea how BIG that game is every year and how much that game means to everyone in Montana? Nope, you don't.
2) What's better, playing some crappy bowl game in some random state, or hosting 2-3 playoffs games and making money off those home games? The Griz have won the Big Sky title 12 years in a row (the streak ended this year though), and they're pretty much guaranteed to host a home playoff game every year.
3) I bet the Griz could beat Idaho and such, but everyone is used to winning. They would have had a long transition to the next level. Not everyone is going to be Boise State when they move up either. There's more of a chance they'd end up like Marshall.
1. You can still easily have the rivalry game
2. The "playoffs" are a total sham when your not including 120 better programs. You would make more money in fbs even with less home games.
3. Average FBS non-AQ > Dominate FCS program. And you mean a 100% Fake National Title you compete for
If you played high school, would you have rather stayed on the JV team for four years?Leave a comment:

Yeah, no thanks. Don't act like you know what's better. I'd rather have a chance to compete for a National Title every year, attend a home playoff game in person, and be able to enjoy watching a playoff system in college football.Last edited by Skywalker; 11-20-2010, 08:06 PM.Leave a comment:

Now that Boise State is playing their last season in the WAC, and Fresno State and Nevada are in their last 2 seasons... the WAC has already chosen our replacements...
Joining Hawaii, La tech, san jose state, utah state, new mexico state, and idaho* in 2012 are:
University of Denver
Texas-San Antonio
Texas State
I don't see how Texas teams are "western" but whatever, lol...
Good Luck to UD!
edit: just found out UD won't play football for the WAC... they don't have a football team i guess (or maybe not at D1 level)
*Idaho sucks

big east is a joke of a conference right now.
but when its all said and done, we need a freakin playoff system BAD!!!!!!
even a plus 1 would be better than this filth. Just add 1 more game after the bowl games to determine the real #1 after TCU beats boise..

i'm expecting/hoping that a team from the big east ends up in a bcs bowl with a 7-5 or 6-6 recordLeave a comment:

granted at the same time being in Division I has given us opportunities, but i believe we would have made it to the same point in the journey regardless of what conference we were in. in fact if we'd been invited straight into a BCS conference we'd probably already have racked up more than 2 BCS Bowl wins and possibly a NC. (yes i am being very arrogant about it...but considering how awesome BSU is, i'm allowed to be).
also it's rather amusing to know that the WAC is a tougher conference this season than the Big East. Everyone knows THAT conference is a joke.Leave a comment:

thats what i was thinking as well... but i guess thats just cal??
or university of california..
all the CSU's in cali are cal states, but i guess we want to separate ourselves from them... I highly doubt it happens, but its just interesting...Leave a comment:

Fresno moreso than nevada, but lately nevada has been stepping it up.
I also don't give a crap what the nation thinks.
Must be nice to root for a bcs school, where you actually have a shot...
Enjoy it big guyLeave a comment:
