Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Obviously TCU is moving to join a BCS conference. Theyre probably going to own the Big East when they get into it. Also the Big East gets a big media market through Texas.
Works out well for both of them. Geographically weird but I can see why both sides would want to make the move.
MWC is taking huge hits though. Utah gone. BYU gone. Now TCU.

Why do you guys think TCU did decide to join the Big East? Everyone in the media already knows that TCU is good and can play good ball. You put them in the Big East and they will dominate yearly (unless another team shows up) and constantly put themselves in a position to play for a National Championship.
In the Big 12 they would have to compete more and potentially wouldnt have the same chance they had in the Big East. Plus did the Big 12 even offer them a spot?

ESPN reports that TCU will be moving to the big east in all sports.
Thoughts?
My thing is why is a Texas time moving to the Big east.
i think geography is going by the wayside in conference alignment. La Tech in the WAC? Colorado in the Pac-10? neither of those make sense.
if Boise was closer, i would LOVE to be part of the Big East... why? we would win it just about every year, easily. that's probably exactly why TCU jumped at the chance. AQ status, pancake BCS conference, more TV exposure... it's a huge win for TCU. and it saves the Big East from losing their AQ status now.

exactly. TCU will have little problem going into the Big East and dominating.
on the other side... i was initially upset but look at this:
with Utah out of the way and TCU out of the picture (BYU independent won't help them at all) this helps Boise State basically seal up the non-AQ at-large bid almost every year. the MWC is basically the new WAC with slightly better teams (Air Force, San Diego State). I don't see Boise State struggling to stay on top now. and i don't think Houston will be making any more noise any time soon.
in this scenario BSU will also have a HUGE chance every year to get into a BCS Bowl because they'll be the only non-AQ team ranked every season more than likely. or at least highest ranked.

Because they moved to the worst BCS Conference possible. Hoping to be able to win it and throw it in all the "haters" faces.
But they really should have joined the Big 12 and seen what they could do.
Winning the Big East won't be impressive.
Will they even win a game in Basketball?
yeah i don't know why you'd join the Big XII when you could go straight into the Big East and take control easily. TCU to the Big East spells conference title more easily than TCU to the Big XII

i think you answered your own question, its pretty obvious why they accepted the invitation.

if the big 12 invited them they would jump on it in a heart beat. not sure why they didn't invite them after Nebraska and Colorado decided to leave, it would have made a lot of sense but oh well.
I just heard this and was pretty surprised by it I thought the mtn west seemed to be shaping up....logistically this move makes no sense from a travel standpoint... But it in all other areas it seems like a really good move for both TCU and The Big East (football)..
Much larger recruiting area and recruiting as AQ school,More tv revenue, basketball program in the Big East.... The Big East gets a quality football team and keeps its AQ bid during the rest of realignment
if Boise was closer, i would LOVE to be part of the Big East...
I was surprised by this move by TCU ...
The question I got and really didn't get a chance to read much info on it when it happened Boise St,Nebraska,Colorado etc but what was the deal with Boise St and the Pac 10 was there a deal ?
