  • Kellen Moore

I was watching hawaii at boise state, and one thing that struck me was kellen moore. he looked like an awesome QB, is he the real deal or was it just a lucky game?

He's putting up crazy stats... but some of that may be playing WAC teams so often. If you ask me he is the real deal. Very smart. He did good in the clutch against V-tech and Nevada (the D let him down in that one). He is a little small, but you can always hit the gym. The only things that work against him is the competition and a little lack of arm strength... though that deep ball against Nevada was nice.

I like the dude, plus he seems like a good kid.

He's the real deal. He put up basically the same numbers a year ago, and he did all that without playing full games. Put in consideration that, he doesn't play full games if they're blowouts, Coach Pete doesn't like running up the score, he could very well throw for 60 TD passes.

The loss against Nevada wasn't Moore's fault. He played well, he prooved that he's probably the clutchest QB in the FBS, it's just that the defense wasn't that good, and the kicker missed 2 easy FGs.

        Boise state: WRs > QB

his recievers are totally nfl legit, he has way better tools/weapons then people realize, he is overhyped but he is still a top5 fbs qb right now

i'm guessing you don't watch much college football? he's not #2 in the Heisman race for no reason.

he's the real deal. he is a born and bred quarterback, his dad was his coach pretty much his whole life, and his brother is an All-State receiver (who also plays for Boise State).

Moore has a natural football intelligence akin to Douglas MacArthur's military strategy intelligence. The kid can read defenses like no one else in college football right now and the only other QB i can think of that can do this is Peyton Manning.

He's a more complete quarterback than Cam Newton or the other top QB's because he's a pure quarterback. he doesn't scramble often (because he doesn't have to) but when he does he can get the first down.

he has a 6th sense about the pocket collapsing (something Orton lacks entirely) and always knows exactly when to move up or step out to avoid the sack.

people try to say he doesn't have the arm for the deep ball but they say this in ignorance because they've clearly never seen how good he is at it. perfect example is his 54 yard pass to Titus Young last friday to give us a chance to win. not to mention how OFTEN he overthrows his receivers deep.

he's extremely calm all the time, especially under pressure, makes few mistakes and when he does it seems more like laziness than panic.

i was REALLY hoping that Denver wouldn't draft a QB until Moore was in the Draft because whoever gets Kellen Moore has a QB for the next 15 years or so.

Titus and Pettis will both play on Sunday's. I believe Titus will be like a Santonio Holmes type player, just a lot faster, and he'll be returning kicks. Pettis' size alone makes him a top NFL prospect, he's 6'4" 205 lbs. He has great hands, pretty fast, and he can actually throw the ball really well.

A lot of people bash him because of his size, so he won't be playing in the NFL. But if he can bulk up to around 200 lbs, I think his height won't be an issue. A good comparrison is Drew Brees, I myself was hoping we could get Kellen Moore but since we have Tebow we won't. I really hope we get Titus in the draft, he could have a HUGE impact on our team.

Give me Kellen Moore over Cam Newton any day. I'd rather have a QB who can throw for 3500 yds, than a QB who can run for 1000 but can only throw for 2000.

I have not watched many Boise State games...but from what I have watched the kid is pretty darn good. I think his game could translate well to the next level but with all college players you just never know until they get there.

                  Thx,
                  Joe

I agree 100% if were talking about the NFL game where your QB NEEDS to be able to read a defense and be a drop back passer. In that case I take Kellen Moore over Cam Newton every time!

However at the college level I would probably take Cam Newton…he can actually sling the ball but is definitely a run first type or one read QB much like Tebow was at Florida. At the college level an athletic QB can cause havoc to opposing defense! At the NFL the athletic QB really needs to be heads and shoulders above everyone else to make it long term which is hard to do. Thus their value drops and their game does not transition as well.

                    Thx,
                    Joe

Truthfully.... Moore has all the pieces of the puzzle to be a great QB... anybody could be dominant with that offensive line, that defense, those NFL receivers, and that running game...

Dude just stands in the pocket and he can even close his eyes and turn around and toss it like at weddings and one of his receivers would snag it out of the air...

sorry guys, i'm not buying into your qb...

he's good, don't get me wrong, but not even close to 2nd.. in my opinion he's a 5th best qb...

which isn't a bad thing by any means.

But once he hits the nfl onto a crappy team with no oline and terrible receivers (bears-like), he'll do terrible... i can't prove that because its just a hunch but its what i believe and I am sorry

Andrew Luck, Ryan Mallet, Jake Locker, Terrelle Pryor, Kellen Moore, Cam Newton.

                        Just my opinion

But the first two are almost fact.

is that Luck best, Newton worst (of that list anyway). or the other way around?

if the first, i'm surprised since you're such a SEC proponent. I think Locker is overrated.

Luck is great, i dunno about Mallet, he hasn't shown that he can pull through in tough games.

Well, i try to watch as much as possible, but i don´t watch a lot of Boise state, and where i live, it is close to impossible to follow heissman race. and also the network is favourising Notre Dame games.

                              Luck #1

I like Mallet, think he will be a good NFL QB.

I know it's another "fantasy" idea but I just think Locker would be a stud on almost any other team.
