I agree with the 8 team playoff. If you're not in the top 8 in the nation, I don't believe you are the best team. I just want this to be tried out and see how it goes.
I agree, but the NCAA keeps saying they will lose money if they make a change.
The NCAA is a money grabbing joke.

I think everyone knows that too.

Anything to make sure TCU doesn't look like they belonged in the championship game... which they do.
Ah, yes. The TCU/Boise State conspiracy rears its ugly head. Perhaps Wisconsin has something to say about competing for a national championship. We'll see.

There is no conspiracy... truth is most marketing teams like OSU and Auburn can get away with anything, as if they didn't, it would fair bad for the NCAA as far as money goes. Had a QB like Andy Dalton did what Pryor and the rest of them did, he wouldn't even be playing in the bowl game.

As much of a Big Ten homer I am, I completely agree.

TCU has no business being in the National Championship game over undefeated Oregon and Auburn. They might deserve a chance at it (aka a playoff) but they don't deserve it more than a team in it now.

I think Wisconsin being as hot as they were could beat both Auburn and Oregon, but obviously they lost so they didn't get a chance at the National Championship.

I think the Badgers (the way they were playing) would have been the most dangerous team in a playoff system.

I think they beat TCU by 10 or more.

But on topic, I hope Arkansas beats the crap out OSU now, just to make things fair.

I mean they can't give TP2 another ring prize to sell away!

The thing I do like about the BCS is that it matters what you do ALL season. You can look at Nascar. Most of the races don't matter. Just get into that "playoff" and you're okay. Wisconsin might be able to beat Auburn or Oregon. I don't know. But is it fair if that last game is the one that they lose? The Giants won one game over the Patriots. But does that prove that the Giants are undoubtly better? Some may think. But the BCS makes you stay perfect. A playoff system will put less emphasis on each regular season game.

Personally, I don't think a five game suspension for selling personal belongings should indicate that one is getting away with anything.

You mean a five game suspension that isn't taking place until next season??

You're dreaming if you think Pryor should be playing in the bowl game. Cam Newton walking away freely with no consequences at all? LOL... Like I said, had that been any other team out there, they all would've been out of the bowl game. Not OSU, Auburn, Oregon, etc. There's always that "little" exception for those teams.

I've never placed a lot of confidence in the NCAA's "rules", the interpretation of said rules, or their enforcement. Surely, Prior and others knew they were violating some kind of preposterous rule when they sold their awards. For that, they should be suspended. This is because they chose to break the rules, however unjust the rule may be. I find the punishment to be sufficient. Pryor stated that he wishes to return to the school in order to win a national championship, and this ruling places that in jeopardy.

Is the punishment biased? Perhaps. We can't say with any certainty. In Newton's case, you'd have to be dreaming to think that there aren't numerous players/families around the country doing the same thing. Newton was highlighted, because the situation was made public by disgruntled parties at a time of their convenience.

You may get your pound of flesh though. Tressel can still sit Pryor and Herron for the Sugar Bowl. Feretz just benched his leading rusher before the Insight Bowl. He may have set a precedent.
