You're dreaming if you think Pryor should be playing in the bowl game. Cam Newton walking away freely with no consequences at all? LOL... Like I said, had that been any other team out there, they all would've been out of the bowl game. Not OSU, Auburn, Oregon, etc. There's always that "little" exception for those teams.
I've never placed a lot of confidence in the NCAA's "rules", the interpretation of said rules, or their enforcement. Surely, Prior and others knew they were violating some kind of preposterous rule when they sold their awards. For that, they should be suspended. This is because they chose to break the rules, however unjust the rule may be. I find the punishment to be sufficient. Pryor stated that he wishes to return to the school in order to win a national championship, and this ruling places that in jeopardy.

Is the punishment biased? Perhaps. We can't say with any certainty. In Newton's case, you'd have to be dreaming to think that there aren't numerous players/families around the country doing the same thing. Newton was highlighted, because the situation was made public by disgruntled parties at a time of their convenience.

You may get your pound of flesh though. Tressel can still sit Pryor and Herron for the Sugar Bowl. Feretz just benched his leading rusher before the Insight Bowl. He may have set a precedent.

The thing I do like about the BCS is that it matters what you do ALL season. You can look at Nascar. Most of the races don't matter. Just get into that "playoff" and you're okay. Wisconsin might be able to beat Auburn or Oregon. I don't know. But is it fair if that last game is the one that they lose? The Giants won one game over the Patriots. But does that prove that the Giants are undoubtly better? Some may think. But the BCS makes you stay perfect. A playoff system will put less emphasis on each regular season game.

As much of a Big Ten homer I am, I completely agree.

Anything to make sure TCU doesn't look like they belonged in the championship game... which they do.
TCU has no business being in the National Championship game over undefeated Oregon and Auburn. They might deserve a chance at it (aka a playoff) but they don't deserve it more than a team in it now.

I think Wisconsin being as hot as they were could beat both Auburn and Oregon, but obviously they lost so they didn't get a chance at the National Championship.

I think the Badgers (the way they were playing) would have been the most dangerous team in a playoff system.

I think they beat TCU by 10 or more.

But on topic, I hope Arkansas beats the crap out OSU now, just to make things fair.

I mean they can't give TP2 another ring prize to sell away!

I agree with the 8 team playoff. If you're not in the top 8 in the nation, I don't believe you are the best team. I just want this to be tried out and see how it goes.
I agree, but the NCAA keeps saying they will lose money if they make a change.
The NCAA is a money grabbing joke.

One reason why they wont have a playoff is because there afraid to lose money, but with a fusion they not only will save there money but gain money as well.
Back in the old days the Rose Bowl was the big daddy bowl, so let that be the championship game. Have a 8 team or 16 team system.

I think that both Auburn and Oregon beat TCU, but nobody will ever get to find out and know for sure because of the way it's set up.

I know its been talked about to time and again, but that continues to drive me crazy.

I get so steamed listening to stupid Bill Plaschke talk about how the computer always gets it right in the end.................
How often in ANY sport do the #1 and #2 teams play each other for the final???

That alone should spark a playoff system...

Although I do agree that both Oregon and Auburn are better teams than TCU, ANYTHING can happen in a playoff and ANY team can beat ANY team, which is what i'd like to see happen... rather than all the top schools keeping all the money.

So he tries to differentiate the AQ teams from the nonAQ teams by putting the nonAQ teams down...

Difference is that even teams from TCU and Boise know that you don't sell your rings and crap for money while you are still a student athlete...

sorry guy, but your team just epic failed...

I don't like Ohio State anyway.

What I hate is how NCAA keeps nit-picking at things. Once Tennessee got in trouble they kept getting them for anything they could. It was the Lane Kiffen crap. Then Pearl. Now they are jumping football players for getting in free at a bar. Are you serious? Are you telling me John Wall and Damarcus Counsins never got preferential treatment? It's guys like John Calipari who keep cheating and never get caught.
