They interview him every year normally before the OSU-Michigan game and before a bowl game.

A little back ground info on my granddad father, he was one of Michigan best linebackers, he still holds the record for most tackles at the school. 3x all big ten selection, named squad MVP in 1979, with numerous All-American contingents.
Any thoughts on the article?
I agree with him on what he said about the OSU players. NCAA is being money grabbing cowards.

Simpkins: U-M will be motivated to play for coach

The Bulldogs may be licking their chops over a matchup they believe clearly favors them but TheWolverine.com analyst Ron Simpkins expects this one to go Michigan's way. Why? He answers that question in this week's conversation …
On what he likes about this matchup: "This isn't the SEC's marquee team. There is a reason Mississippi State is playing in the Gator Bowl and not a BCS game. Is this a good team? Yes, but it's not a great team and yet all I'm hearing is about that SEC speed again and how they're going to devour the Big Ten. Well, how'd that work out the last time Michigan went down to Florida to play an SEC opponent?
"I just think you have the classic example of an SEC team thinking a little too much of itself and a Michigan team that should play its best because it's trying to make that convincing final argument that its coach deserves to come back."
On whether Rich Rodriguez's job status uncertainty is a distraction: "The coaches are probably telling the kids the only thing they can control is their play and is reminding them that they worked really hard for this opportunity and they have to take advantage, but I'm sure it is in the back of their mind.
"Like I said, these kids probably want their coach to come back next year and they're going to play with that motivation, and I think we could see something similar to the Capital One Bowl [in 2007] when they played their absolute best because they wanted to see Lloyd Carr finish his career on a high note."
On how the long layoff must be combated: "You treat it a lot like the preseason where you start with conditioning to work these guys back into shape and remind them what it's all about and then you're working on fundamentals, and then you're installing your game plan. It's like you're playing that first game of the season all over again.
"You're not always going to be sharp right away but you make up for that with preparation. You've had a lot of time to study your opponent, pick up their tendencies and become familiar with how they're going to try to attack you."
