  • Brady Hoke

I'm sure you have all heard the news of my Wolverines signing Brady to coach Michigan. I like him, he was my second favorite rumored candidate, even though I thought Harbaugh or Miles would be the coach. Jim was a first favorite coach to hire, Brady was second, Miles is a good coach, but he is a not the coach I want.

So I'm happy with Hoke, he is a defensive minded coach, that will bring a mix offense, he uses the pro style and west coast. I hope he recruits the right QB for it, or use my guy, Tate Forcier. Some people don't like him, I think he is good, and with the right coach, can be great. Is Hoke that coach? I don't know.

Why don't I want D-Rob as the QB, because he is a running QB, with a mediocre arm, and he throws picks at the wrong time. Move him to WR or RB, he is not use in a system for passing QB's, now thats not saying with Tate we will be immobile, because Tate can run and he is quick. Thats my :2cents: and my opinion.

What do you think of the Hoke signing?

    In the event ...

... Jim Harbaugh didn't get the job, I thought all along Brady Hoke would get it.

Do you know if he is bringing his coordinators, Al Borges and Rocky Long, to Ann Arbor with him?

There is no word on his staff yet.
But I'll keep my eyes open.

His resemblance to Mike Golic is uncanny.

            Just heard it ...

... on the radio during my drive home today.

Rocky Long is the new HC at San Diego State University, so he won't be joining Brady Hoke in Ann Arbor.

Hmmm ... staying in San Diego, not moving to Michigan: BRILLIANT!

That really sucks. SDSU seemed to be on the rise. I don't know why SDSU hasn't been more competitive, it's an ideal place to live & there are a lot of damn good football players that are around here to recruit from.

Rocky Long will keep it going.

I hope you're right Sam. It would be great for the Mountain West to have San Diego continue it's rise in football productivity. It helps with the future viability of the conference.

Boise and San Diego doing well could go a long way to remove the sting of TCU and Utah leaving. Boise has become somewhat of a national brand for being a mid-major program, and San Diego is in the middle of a large market.

... for Rocky will be to get a good OC. Will Al Borges stay at San Diego or go to Michigan with Brady Hoke? Sometimes when football coaches get old, they prefer the Mediterranean climate by the sea over the frozen wastes of the upper midwest. We shall see. Rocky and Al were coordinators on the same staff at UCLA once before, so maybe they like working together. Who knows?

Some in ABQ are upset with UNM's AD for firing Rocky in the first place. Mike Locksley has been a huge disappointment only winning two games in the last two seasons and being involved in several scandals. I always enjoyed seeing Rocky at the Lobo coaching clinics. He is really the guy who helped Brian Urlacher become such a great football player.

Another challenge for Rocky will be recruiting, but that shouldn't be as difficult in SoCal as it was in NM.
